Bio

I live in Yardley PA, Bucks County, the northeast suburb of Philadelphia. My "day job" is in property management. And my "night job" is fighting horse slaughter!

I live with my two fur babies....Batman is my kitty cat that I took home from the racetrack after my 20 yr old cat Thunder died. Barney is my beagle who I rescued in April 2009 shortly after my beloved dog, Buddy, died of cancer. Barney and I have been training hard so that he can become a therapy dog. He has also served as our mascot for Americans Against Horse slaughter and has his own facebook page.

We are all major Phillies fans!

Horse experience

I've always been an avid fan of thoroughbreds and am lucky to have had racehorses of my own. They are all now retired and living in good homes.

Mr. Boxcar (Peppy Addy Stakes winner) is now training to be a show horse and lives with Justin Smith. He has his own fan page on Facebook! I went to see him at his first show in Feb 2011 and he won two ribbons!

Ironclad Alibi has a wonderful little girl, Emily, that loves him to death and they are learning together. I was invited to his "birthday" party last year and still get lots of pictures.

I'ma Wild One is now living at beautiful Birch Creek Farm in New Jersey and is being bred for sport horses. She loves her new life and is very happy and a great mama!

My Jester Girl has been adopted by a wonderful lady in Pennsylvania. Her name is Christy and she loves Jessie to death and has given her a wonderful home. Jessie is in foal and should have her baby in July 2011

Bright Nickel was claimed from me in March 2009 but I am still in touch with his new trainer and go to his races.

I'm fortunate enough to stay in contact with all my horses and remain a part of their lives and have remained an advocate for responsible ownership.

FOB activities

While I am involved in many FOB activities like horse rescue, my main issue is to help end horse slaughter through federal legislation I've been involved in ending horse slaughter for a long time. After Barbaro brought us together, Debra Lopez and I started working closely with our DC contacts in developing stategy to pass along to the FOB's in order to help focus on the most productive way to pass these laws. Together, Deb and I founded Americans Against Horse Slaughter and continue the fight to end horse slaughter.

The Alex Brown Forum has been an invaluable tool in gathering so many dedicated people who are working hard to make this happen. The FOB's have always stepped up to make their voices heard!!

FOB Network

I have met many wonderful people through the FOB network. Way too many to mention. I've worked closely with many on the anti slaughter fight and it was wonderful being able to put so many faces with names at the Delaware Park Barbaro Celebration.

And, of course, there's Alex. Without him there would be no FOB network.
