Peter Brette

From the UK, Peter was champion jockey in Dubai and also trained horses in Dubai. He joined Michael Matz as an assistant trainer and will be forever associated with Barbaro. Michael acknowledged on multiple occasions Peter's influence on Barbaro and his training.

Peter rode all Barbaro's work as he campaigned as a 3yo. This is not usual. Jockeys are typically brought in for the big works but neither Jose Caraballo or Edgar Prado ever rode Barbaro other than in his races.

Married to Kim, Peter and Kim have one son, Nicholas (who called Barbaro "Bobby").
