OUR Mission Our Mission is to rescue, retrain and re-home equines that are no longer wanted or useful to their owners and place them in homes where they ARE wanted and needed agin. Most Importantly Painted Star Equine Rescue will only adopt a horse to a Loving and positive environment that is mutually beneficial to both horse and human.
What We Do Painted Star Equine Rescue INC. rescues horses from being auctioned for slaughter, takes in horses that have been sized by the state of Florida, and takes custody of horses abandoned or unwanted by their owners . We rehabilitate and train horses for use as companion animals, riding horses and therapy horses that are then available for adoption to the general public with approval. Painted Star Equine Rescue offers education programs to help educate new horse owners with respect to proper care, management and Natural horsemanship training techniques. Education clinics and demonstrations are presented to the general public on issues such as veterinary care, shoeing, safety, Natural Horsemanship training, riding, and neglect and cruelty to animal issues. The purposes of Painted Star Equine Rescue are exclusively charitable, scientific or educational.
Adoption policies: We use contracts to protect the horses, we do reference and site checks, as well as a background check on potential adopters. We then do monthly communication checks on the horses and yearly site checks of the adopters farm and horses. the Fostering procedures are the same except that the foster home must be available to show potential adopters the horses that they are fostering.
Visitor hours: Please call or email for a Appointment. Volunteer information; We could use volunteers to help us ride and train the horses as well as grooming and pampering:.>
