Comment: I saw the pics of Mokyska who was just saved from New Holland . What an absolutely gorgeous animal!!! And he is a great grandson of Damascus (and he has that huge "Damascus-head" with the kind look in his eye...I'm in LOVE) and of Mr Prospector too! Please, keep us updated on what happens to him and what the prognosis is on his swollen ankle/fetlock. (swedishkat)
Answer was provided by AC4H on their wiki-page - THANKS!

Prayers are needed.
Prayers are being said!!! Thanks for the pics of him, he looks HAPPY! swedishkat
He looks much better than he did in the first pic. Still waiting on the x-ray report. Might be tomorrow. What the stable said about Mokyska Doesn't sound like the same horse.
UPDATE on X-RAYS
I called Christy this morning (Monday, 7/02). Mokyska has floating chips in his ankle, some bone loss on the cannon bone and arthritis. He will need rest and rehab for a year or until those bone chips stop floating around. He might at some point be sound enough for light riding but there is no guarantee he will ever be more than a pasture pet.
Christy says he is a big baby and very playful. Her kids were helping to give him a bath and he really enjoyed it. He is a little nippy but no bite. However, if you get behind him he lifts that back leg and warns you that he can still kick!!!
If anyone is interested in him, send e-mail to: christy Sheidy <christy@ac4h.com>
MOKYSKA EUTHANIZED November 15, 2007
I (Lisa) had not been keeping up with his condition lately, so it's my fault for not preparing anyone for the shock of losing him. I knew that his recovery would be slow but had hoped for the best.
From Christy at AC4H
Mokyska - had been putting on good weight and was always very personable so easy to grow attached and oh man was I - weren't we all....... the followup visit and x-rays showed that the stress on his body from the "blown ankle" left leg was concentrating his weight on the right the pressure cause founder, infection we battled and deterioration of the coffin bone basically leaving him with no "good foot" in the front at all. Although he appeared to be doing better and was actually able to trot what we couldn't see was all the damage being done inside the hoof.
It is with complete devistation that I am letting you guys know that we lost all three today... they were humanely euthanized as that is what was best for them.... devistating emotionally for us... they are no longer in pain nor will ever be and they did not go to the slaughter house but were loved, cherished and respected and we did everying in our power to give them every opportunity available to live.
I am so sorry to hear about Mokyska, Christy. He was so special, even though I never met him, he touched my heart in ways I cannot explain... I am comforted in the fact that I know he is now RUNNING WITHOUT PAIN - the way it should be, and that he had such a wonderful existens after he was rescued, hanging out with his best pal (Painted Pistol) and getting spoiled by yourself and your parents. You all must miss him terribly! Swedishkat 14:00, 16 November 2007 (EST)
LISA - is there any way you could put those pictures of Mokyska and PP laying down, napping in the pasture together, here on Mokyska's wiki-page? They were some SPECIAL PHOTOS of perfect balance and peace!!! :) Kat Swedishkat 14:00, 16 November 2007 (EST)
Kat, I'm was hoping you would see the changes on this page. I meant to post to you directly on the thread he had with PP but just couldn't. It's still incredibly hard to write about it today. I know you had a special place in your heart for Mokyska and of all people you deserved to know that he is gone.
I'll surely put those pics of him and his B.F.F. Painted Pistol on here.
