Bio
My name is Melody Wolfe and I'm from a little town in New York called Castile. I live with my sister and help to take care of my 13 year old nephew Nathan. He is the love of my life needless to say. I have two rescued furbabies named Chance and Shadow. Yes, the names are from the movie "Homeward Bound". We have had them for almost 9 1/2 years and I would (and do) anything for them. They are so spoiled. We adopted them from our local animal shelter. Its the best thing we have ever done. Back in August of 2010 Shadow was diagnosed with a Perineal Hernia. Thanks to some very Special FOB's and with help from my brother Andrew, Shadow was able to have his surgery. We had a few setbacks but now Shadow is a very happy healthy dog. In July of 2009 we got a Basset hound named Dottie who is quite a character. She loves to sit in the window so we say she is doing the Neighborhood Watch Program and her nickname is Mrs. Kraviz like the nosey character in the Bewitched Series.

Horse experience
I have recently rode a horse for the first time. It was a 45th Birthday present from my sister and my brother. I was the best gift that I could have ever received. The horse was a 9 yr old paint named Cimmeron. Needless to say I have been invited back and I plan on going soon.
FOB activities
Forgotten Treasues Equine Rescue, Field of Dreams, MO Horse Heroes, UPenn Barbaro and Laminitis Fund, MHR, B & C Equine Rescue, The Thoroughbred fund and many other rescues. I support or have supported the following horses: Flashy Jasper, First Touchdown, Phyrfly, Layla Belle, O'Baby, Buck and Buddy. I was a Secret Santas to a horse named Starbuck from the Horses Give Thanks 2007 rescue that Pure Thoughts Inc. did. He has since been adopted by a loving family. I along with one of my best friends whom I met through the forum named Robin West have made two very special albums that have been given to the Jacksons showing horses that have been saved because of Barbaro. The first album was of horses saved by Rescues and was given to them at Christmas. The second album was of horses saved by Individual FOB's and was presented to them at Barbaro's internment. I am now in charge of Beanie Barbaro's travels which I have been doing for the last 2 years. Its great fun to see the places he has been and to see where he will go next.
FOB Network
I donate to as many FOB causes as I can. I think this is a Wonderful forum to learn things from. I am now in the Anti-Slaughter movement as well. I make my call to my legislators faithfully everyday. I send flyers and send letters at least twice a week. Thanks to Barbaro for making me more aware of horse issues. If it were not for him I would not be here. I hopefully have made many new friends from this experience. Thank you to all who have helped educated me along the way. I hope to do the same for you and others in the future. I along with fellow FOB Mary Lucas do a Horse and Furbaby Tribute to honor those lost. A big Thank You to Mary for doing this with me and helping me with many other things. You are a great friend and I appreciate everything you have done for me and the horses.
