I am the Director of Marketing for the Texas Thoroughbred Association. My background includes over 23 years of marketing and sales in the high-tech and advertising industries.
Horse experience
Share a little about your horse experiences. I have over 44 years experience riding, owning and training horses. I started riding horses when I was 3. My family owned 3 ranches in Texas. I started showing hunters when I was 10. I currently own one mare that I board near Austin. I have rescued and re-trained two OTTBs.
FOB activities
Identify rescues you support, other activities you have undertaken on TWR sites, what you have learned through following Barbaro and FOBs etc. I have been a member of TWR since the day after the Preakness and Barbaro's accident. I joined the discussion boards in January. Since that time I have been active in many rescues on the board. I am not a member of any single rescue group, but choose to help whichever rescues are in need. I have supported several rescues on this board including the Fallon Pregnant Mares for Shiloh.
FOB Network

QUESTION:
You also posted a message on the board that intimated that some of these mares and foals were in fact purchased with the considerable funds the FOB raised. I asked about at the time but never got an answer. Were the mares and foals purchased or not? If only some were refunds given or transferred to other rescues? Where did they go? Are there any photos in their new homes?
You keep asking this same question and I have answered it repeatedly. Did you donate or support this rescue in any form? If so, you can email me offline with your name and question. All are safe.
This is for the safety of the horses and the people involved. Respect that please. I have also explained that to you over and over again. This will be the last time I respond to your repeated questions involving the same subject matter
COMMENT ON ANSWER:
This is actually the first time you responded to me about this at all but thanks for doing so. I don't see anywhere on the "rules" though that only people who donate can ask a question about donations or horses on a particular fund raiser. I believe that anyone who solicits money on the TWB has to be prepared to answer questions about it. I'm glad the horses are safe and the donors are updated.
Comment to your comment: I never said there was a "rule" about asking questions about donations or horses involved in rescues on TWR if only you were a donor. I asked you if you were also possibly a supporter as emotionally or spiritually for this rescue. You never answered me. I made it clear why I was not going to answer your questions and asked you to email me privately which you never did so obviously you didn't feel like your questions were all that important. And yes, I have answered you before on the forum about this subject matter. I will answer questions about donations to those that donated or to the moderator of this board..Alex. In my opinion, those are the ones that really need to know where "their" money is going for this particular and unique rescue. Why would one that didn't support a certain rescue be so worried about other people's money that did donate? I believe the people that donate to certain rescues are comfortable thus the reason why they donate. And yes, all supporters..financially or otherwise...are receiving all the updated reports. I would be happy to give you references and you can ask them directly. Thanks for your concern.
QUESTION: Hmmmmm. I never received any update on this rescue and I gave you $100 for it. Where do i go for the updates?? MaryAinMI
