I am a California girl, born and raised. I live in the heart of Silicon Valley, (Bay Area) and pay my bills by selling software.

Every pet I have had in my adult life has been a rescue. I currently have 3 adorable cats, a beautiful Thoroughbred mare and her handsome baby who is a yearling mule!

In December of 2005, I saw an online classified ad for a horse on a feedlot. I was horrified as I had no idea horses were slaughtered for food. I was so out of touch and naive. I ended up adopting that horse, and the rest is history!

Here is the picture that captured my heart. There was something about the look in her eye that drew me in:

Horse experience

I have loved horses since I was a little girl and was lucky enough to grow up in an area that had horse property. My riding experience as a child was in Eventing which I plan to do with my current horse and eventually her baby. I gave up horses when I was in my late teens and was away from them for several years. I love having a horse in my life again and am having fun working with a green horse as well as a youngster.

I will be competing again in eventing, but am also learning the finer points of hunt seat riding as well.

Here is a picture of me and my CBER rescue Jamaica. We won a blue ribbon in Hunter Under Saddle in our first show! blueribbon-1.jpg

This is Jamaica and her surprise baby when he was one day old!

This is one of my favorite pictures. It is from a recent show where we were in classes with much more experienced horse/rider combinations. The classes were big and we had a lot of fun. Oh, and we actually got ribbons in three of our classes!

I can't stop smiling! Just the fact we are even in a show ring just blows me away. We have worked hard and had some difficult times, but I wouldn't change a thing. I LOVE my horse!

This is Surprise at almost a year and a half old. This picture was taken while he had a private session with Jerry Tindell (love Jerry!). Surprise is a beautiful mover and I'm looking forward to eventually riding a dressage test with him.

Surprise just got back from spending three months in training with Jerry Tindell. I'm so happy to have him back!

FOB activities

I have contributed to more rescues on this board than I can name! I love how people come together on this board to help horses in need and am grateful that I am able to help out. I have a soft spot for Thoroughbreds and long ears, go figure!
