We live in Connecticut on a small farm. We can only take in one horse at a time, but support other efforts as well. I am a freelance writer specializing in the equestrian market. We follow the principles of natural horsemanship, enlisting the help of kind professionals when needed. (Although, we've gotten pretty good over the years) [edit] Horse experience We have studied natural horsemanship and participated in clinics with Ray Hunt, Stacy Westfall, Mark Rashid, Kathy Huggins, and other less well known, but equally good clinicians. We feel that horsemanship is a lifelong study and we feel very blessed to be participating in this journey. Every horse has something to teach us, from the challenging types to the quiet, more reserved souls. I have a special interest in horses that have trailer loading problems. Our OTTB mare had extreme trailer loading issues, most of which stemmed from her days at the starting gate. After a very nasty accident involving our trailer, we made it our goal to help her over her fears. She now self loads and enjoys the game. This mare's challenges led me to study the art of horsemanship as it might relate to loading a horse. Very rewarding work.


[edit] FOB activities Our favorite rescues are Greener Pastures Equine Rescue, Safe Haven Arabian Rescue, and, of course, Helping Hearts Equine Rescue. I've learned that updates on horses supported are key to keeping members involved. There are so many ways to help.
