Alex Brown trying out an OTTB...

Known as General (or Gen), with only one win in 6 starts, he needed a new job! This handsome chestnut boy is in a forever home, training to become a eventer, working hard on his dressage and jumping! Bought by Angela in April 2007, I had quite abit of un-training to do with him, but could easily see his potential!

July 2008: I have now had Gen for alittle over a year, and he's doing really well. VERY smart and has a great work ethic! Just got back from dressage lessons with Bobbie Paulk (USDF/USEF Licensed "R" dressage judge and a FAB-ulous trainer) in Austin, and he did great. Which is a huge improvement over last year when I bought him, as at the time, he would NOT walk (jig only, thank you!) and it took two months to fix that bad habit! Alex will be happy to know that Gen rarely jigs anymore and now has a very slow trot when asked! :-) I plan to start competing him in schooling shows this fall. - Angela (Gen's mom)

Such a good looking horse, Angela, and I love his knee action in the free-jumping shot! If you're ever in the Austin area again, let me know. Good luck with the eventing future. Have you taken him XC yet at all? If you ever need a great event trainer, my friend Valerie recently moved here (Marble Falls, TX) from CA, here is her OTTB eventer Master's Choice  :) swedishkat
