Bio
Hi! I'm in my late 50s and live in Orange County, Ca. I work as a planner for a small manufacturing firm, I'm not married and my three cats (Chloe, Cory and Ivy) are my kids. I lost Bud on 3/21/08 (he was PTS due to several age-related ailments). RIP, my sweet Budster!! And I lost Lucky on 7/26/08. She was 21 and has gone to join all her old friends at the Rainbow Bridge. I miss them both very much. I have a BA in sociology and double minor in psychology/political science from Whittier College (Richard Nixon's alma mater--whoppee!). My career path hasn't followed my educational one, but my education has equipped me to handle all types of people and "people watching" is a trip! Probably why I prefer to spend my down time with cats!! I first started coming to Tim Woolley Racing to read Alex's wonderful updates on Barbaro and, after Barbaro was euthanized, I actually checked out the forum. I got swept up by so many wonderful people and their love for horses and I've been a member ever since. I will admit that I've never been around horses, but I still love them for their intelligence and grace--they are truly majestic animals! And I have been a "Cat Person" my entire life, so I help out on the cat rescues, too. I love all animals, so I do whatever I can do. I'm also a voracious reader and love artsy/craftsy stuff (but I'm far from a pro).
Horse experience
No horse experience, but I think they are wonderful animals! I used to watch races, but find that I have a really hard time when a horse breaks down (spending the whole afternoon crying!), so I've stopped watching.
FOB activities
I try to help wherever I can. Recently, Marigold the mule, who had been a resident of Mustang Hearts, moved to Miracle Horse Rescue, along with a darling colt, Destiny. I am continuing to sponsor Marigold and help both (as finances permit). There are so many worthwhile threads on this forum and I do what I can! This forum has some of the kindest people I've ever met and I feel I've made some lifelong friends here. And have I learned about horses, ponies, minis, mules and donkeys!!
