    Barbaro Updates: 866

    updates are now here.

Update 5101: My weekly contribution to Eclipse Magazine (UK): Alex Brown 1 June 2009.

Update 5100: Getting ready to teach Internet for First Time Starters at Woodbine.

Update 5099: Vincent O'Brien died today: VINCENT O'BRIEN DIES AGED 92.

Update 5098: Update from John Asher at Churchill Downs on the works of Mine That Bird and Rachel Alexandra:

MINE THAT BIRD WORKS HALF-MILE IN :50 FOR BELMONT - Double Eagle Ranch and Buena Suerte Equine's Mine That Bird put in his final major preparation for Saturday's Belmont Stakes (Grade I) by working a half-mile in :50 under jockey Calvin Borel on Monday at Churchill Downs.

The winner of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (GI) came on the fast Churchill Downs track shortly after 8:30 a.m. (all times EDT) when the track reopened after the morning renovation break. Borel backtracked Mine That Bird to the frontside and then loped around to the backstretch for the work that clockers caught in splits of :13.80, :26.60, :38.40, the half in :50 with a five-eighths gallop out time of 1:02.20 and six furlongs in 1:15.

The time for the half-mile was the 32nd fastest of 57 at the distance.

"He picked it up good the last quarter," said trainer Chip Woolley, who before the work said he was looking for something in the 49 to 49.20 range. "The main thing was the last quarter in 23 and 2. The important part was finishing strong and galloping out without weakening."

After the work, Borel was ecstatic about the work and Mine That Bird's chances in the Belmont.

"We're gonna win, no questions asked," Borel said. "He worked in :50 and out in 1:02, just like before the Derby. He is doing everything the same. After those two hard races (the Derby and Preakness), I think the colt is very happy."

Woolley continued to the perfect fit that has become horse and rider.

"You watch when he comes out on the track with (exercise rider) Charlie (Figueroa) or anybody else and he has his head up and is looking around," Woolley said. "With Calvin, he just drops his neck and knows it is time to go to work. He knows the difference, maybe it's because Calvin is lighter."

Woolley is going to look in on Mine That Bird early Tuesday morning before catching a 7:15 flight to New York with Mine That Bird flying the following day.

"I think we are in good shape going into the Belmont," Woolley said. "The horse is doing good and probably training better than he did going into the Derby.

"It is going to be a tough race and, how many do I fear? How many are in there? Wayne's horse (Flying Private for trainer D. Wayne Lukas) is on the improve and Kiaran's horse (Charitable Man for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin) is a sheer monster and he likes that racetrack."

Woolley said that Mine That Bird would return to the track early Wednesday morning to backtrack to the paddock runway and go around the track 1 ½ times. Mine That Bird would go to the track at Belmont on Thursday and Friday "but not on Saturday unless he is getting rattled."

Tentative plans call for Mine That Bird to return to Churchill Downs next Monday and remain here at least for a week.

"All of our stuff is here and so is the trailer," Woolley said. "We'll see how he does up there and how he comes out of the race but the plan now is we'll stay here at least through the Stephen Foster (June 13) and then decide on where we'll go."

RACHEL ALEXANDRA WORKS SOLID FIVE FURLONGS - Stonestreet Stables and Harold McCormick's Rachel Alexandra, winner of Preakness (Grade I) and Kentucky Oaks (GI), breezed a solid five furlongs on Monday in her first serious training move since majority owner Jess Jackson announced that she would bypass Saturday's Belmont Stakes.

Regular exercise rider Dominic Terry was in the irons aboard the Steve Asmussen-trained daughter of Medaglia d'Oro covered the distance over a "fast" track in 1:01.60. Churchill Downs clockers timed Rachel Alexandra in fractions of :13, :25.20, :37 and :49.20. She galloped out six furlongs in 1:14.60.

As the filly worked around 6:30 a.m. (EDT), trainer Steve Asmussen and Barbara Banke, Jackson's wife, looked on.

"She's a beautiful filly and travels tremendous," said Asmussen. "She's got a gorgeous stride on her and she seemed very comfortable. I thought Dominic did a great job with her as usual."

Asmussen said no firm target has been selected for Rachel Alexandra's return to racing after her historic win over males in the May 16 Preakness at Pimlico.

"I think everybody gets to take a step back and take a deep breath," he said. "We'll take a little bit of the pressure off her and just enjoy her. We were very pleased with how she went. We'll see what sort of energy she comes out of it with. As always, we'll be talking with Jess and communicating where we feel she is."

Rachel Alexandra has a record of 8-2-0 in 11 races and has earned $1,618,354.

Update 5097: Seven sets this morning for Steve at Woodbine. Two of which went to the gate for a little gate schooling. All was well. It was a little overcast this morning, but I was expecting it to be colder.

Update 5096: La Ville Rouge, Barbaro's mum, is confirmed in foal at the 30 day stage: La Ville Rouge Passes 30-Day Pregnancy Test.

Mine That Bird and Rachel Alexandra are both scheduled to work this morning at Churchill Downs.

You can follow morning updates through training hours on twitter: AlexBrownRacing.

    And please keep calling.

Hiya, FsOB! Alex & Wendy. there are three ghastly blue-link filled postings that need permanent zapping this morning. Calling Sir Spamalot!

I am so saddened to see that little Phoenix's injuries necessitated her euthanasia yesterday. May those people or that person who inflicted such pain on this young dog be brought to swift justice. Likewise, I am enraged to think that the person who killed Sherry's great-niece Melody and permanently altered Aaron's life had six (6) DUIs under his belt. Honestly, what is this country coming to, to allow such carnage of defenseless individuals and animals....

I encourage everyone to read Martita's lovely poem, which was the final entry on yestesday's board.

Beautiful post by Marita. I have had the honor to see the horses serving in military cemetaries and was transfixed by their presence.

Ahh, to give The Horse the honor they have earned and deserve.

MONDAY FROM TB FRIENDS IN CA WITH CATHY AND JOE & THE 122+ HORSES AND THE GAZILLION FLIES
    *****************************************************
Monday, June 1st... The lady in Loomis said she would like to foster a horse for Tbfriends. After seeing her other animals, her house, her gourmet kitchen, her video room with over 700 movies, I asked the lady if Cathy and I could live there too?

But the lady said no, go away, so it is back to our world of flies and cat poop in the closet. Toss a jelly filled doughnut in the air, it comes down on a horse.

We had until the end of May to find new homes for more than 30 neglected thoroughbreds, including mares and foals, from a breeding farm out of business. There was a stallion with bad legs, and Willie Nelson should do a ballad. All the foals with the same ugly legs. The stallion is now a gelding, and living with friends who celebrate Christmas all year long. I said you forgot to take down your lights, and they said oh yeah, but it is almost June and might as well leave em up now.

Mares and foals found new homes, and a single preggo mare went to a family in Utah. There were 5 yearlings, all with crooked legs, and now all with new homes.

No one wanted a mean, unattractive, charge right over you two year old filly. It took more than an hour for our friend Sheldon to get the filly inside his trailer. Once in our driveway I said hi, how ya doing? The filly answered by charging and knocking me into West Sacramento. It became clear an understanding was needed. She has this long stretch of mane reaching to the ground. Truly a bad hair day. Try to rub her face and she does a Jack Bauer head butt. None of this is her fault. At the breeding farm she was never touched.

So now I have a two year old filly to play with. We have named her Eden, and there is a prize winning picture below on Top Left.

    more to come

And what Sunday could be completed without a wasp bite? Turned on the faucet next to our barn, and the wasp nailed the top of my finger. A root canal is less painful.

Eden knocked me down, a wasp blew up my hand, but now thank goodness June is here. A new month, new ideas, new horizons on the horizon. We need to thank Noelle in Citrus Heights, who spent her Sunday working on our Tbfriends Thanksgiving feasts. We need to thank Stephanie of Esparto, who spent her Sunday transporting an injured race horse to his new foster family in Gilroy.

Enjoy your brand new month Monday, and be sure to hug your horses. Taylor Swift on the radio...

June 1 Cherokee Devotional [sharing email from Harriette Brillianthawk]

A real champion started "back there" with the right intentions, the right stuff, the full ability to be a champion. Many of us would like to be champions, but our knowledge is so limited and we are often selfish. We need help. Be unpretentious when you ask for help. If you do not have wisdom, ask for it---but don't rely on another person to meet your needs. Sometimes those we depend on, those we choose to mentor us, have feet of clay. But when people disappoint us and we encounter obstacles in our path, we must continue to work to obtain our goal. This is how a champion is born.

If we have corn and meat and know a family that has none, we divide with them.

    Morning, ABR Famblee...

I wanted to take this time to say Thank You, to everyone who responded to my plea for prayers for Phoenix/Mercy...whether you were physically posting at her Thread or here, or just quietly speaking from your own hearts/minds...Thank You for stepping up as only the FOBs do.

I'm heartbroken that her story didn't have that 'happy ending' we all so wanted for her. I believe she is now in a better place..I'm just having a difficult time with the fact that she had to die to get to a better place.

I am grateful that she knew soft voices and kindness her last three days here on this Earth..and extremely touched and grateful that her caregivers made the decision to take her outdoors, so as they helped her from her suffering here, she didn't have to die indoors in a cage...what awesome people they all are, Famblee!

Laurie H. stopped in last night to leave a Tuck In for Phoenix/Mercy and I wanted to be sure everyone could read if they wanted to, so have copied/pasted here:

I have here with a very, very heavy heart Honey.

Do you remember the day when your colleague George Washington was cantering toward you over The Bridge? Yes Honey, and Alex’s naughty, naughty words that he posted? I know, you and I understood Alex’s emotions and actions that day and today, I would LOVE to post those words myself...but I hope just referencing a horrific day and the despair and pain associated with such an incident will suffice.

Okay Honey, anger and pain aside (until I can log off), I know that you welcomed a new Little Angel into your world of absolute beauty and everlasting love...I thank you Honey. Yes, I STILL love you...always will!

May I please ask that...You took her where?! Barbaro, what a perfect idea of yours!

I can imagine that the cool shade under the wide, old oak trees felt wonderful on her skin. Yes Honey, and the sound and scent of the lilac edged, trickling brook offered her the serenity that is truly Heaven.

She didn’t want to leave?! I suppose it didn’t bother you at all because the grass is always so rich around the water...

I guess you have this down ‘pat’ now don’t you Honey? Yes, we have asked you to be there for sooo many of our loved ones and the ones we love but never met. We want the best for them Barbaro and, well, you ARE the best!

Phoenix/Mercy, you are loved. Those are only three little words but then, you are only little yourself and look how Important, Substantial, Significant, Dignified, Strong, Beautiful, Forgiving, and Forever Remembered you will be. Many powerful people cannot boast the same qualities that you display...and in some people, none of them are or ever will be, present...

I know you didn’t want to leave the shade of your oak trees but I have a feeling that you’ll be back there very soon, if Barbaro has anything to say about it! I know, he’s big isn’t he?!

Little One, I hope that when Angels go to heaven, and life on Earth was less than they deserved, that certain memories are carried off on a gentle breeze that falls forever behind the Angel...to never be recalled again. I think that that is something that Heaven should do for those Angels...

You will only know Love, in it’s purest and most beautiful form...unconditionally...just like you furbabies have and will always give.

You may have your breath taken away but just for a split second Mercy, don’t be afraid! You see, there is a saying that "Love rushes in".

Well, Love knows that it is a ‘good’ thing and so because of that, Love feels that EVERYone should feel it right away...so it doesn’t just nudge the heart, it flops down, nuzzles around, turns a few times and then, sets right in!

May you enjoy your travels through Heaven Mercy. It is now YOUR world and your home. Barbaro has many wonderful sites for you to share and he is aware of the need for your comfort...because now your healing is complete.

So Honey, why don’t you snuggle up to your new Little One and we will grab your blanket. Oh Honey, where did you find a pink satin and flannel baby blanket?! Yes, that will feel soo good to Mercy...thank you Honey.

We will fluff it just right for nuzzling and we’ll put a bit more of it over Mercy, okay? Oh, she wants her tail outside of the blanket? Okay, yes, she can wag her tail while you two snack, giggle and tell secrets before you close your eyes...

Barbaro, your healing is complete and strength will forever carry you into the sweet dreams of your loved ones.

The Dream Angels will sing you two to sleep with a chorus of lullabies that Mercy's caregivers and Fans of Barbaro grew up with...keeping EVERYone snuggled together in unity for Mercy's first night in Paradise...

Rest Little One. You are loved...just three little words but oh, so sincere and powerful. Good night...I love you. xxoo...xo..x

Good night Honey. You are loved...three little words but you KNOW how powerful they are...I love you. XXOO...x...ox..x

I don't know what kind of world we live in, Famblee...some parts are very dark...and always, I am glad to be part of this AWESOME group of people..but times like these past few days, I want yole to know how much you mean to me...this journey has been very difficult, but being able to travel with yole made it much more bearable.

I imagine Phoenix/Mercy has been welcomed to HGF and greeted by *BARBARO* and *SLEW*, who no doubt had some mighty fine culinary treats in 'hoof' upon her arrival there...and lest I not forget *MURPHY*, 'cause I just know he has made 'fast frens' with this wonderful little girl:)

Federal Strategy Update - no new cosponsors to report today. Remember, Congress was in recess all last week - so do not despair!

[Note from CJ - this is a summary, and I will be crossposting from the DB shortly, Shelley A & Deb's post from AAHS with this week's strategy.]

We are embarking on a slightly new strategy - in addition to asking you to contact the legislators on our Americans Against Horse Slaughter (AAHS) target lists of previous cosponsors, we are ALSO asking all of you to please check the DB Thread with short daily target lists compiled by Humanity Against Horse Slaughter (HAHS) and contact those legislators as well. (I will be crossposting the AAHS & HAHS lists here at Comments, shortly.)

Please continue to send your feedback on ALL legislators you contact - from both list sources - to me - potlucky@sbcglobal.net - as directed in our AAHS Weekly Strategy Thread. (That thread also contains a link to the HAHS thread.)

NOTE - the HAHS thread at ABR does not yet contain a contact list - but I will crosspost it over here (both at Comments and the DB) from their Yahoo Group site.

and again - if anyone wants to be added to my email list for getting AAHS emails re our antislaughter campaign and other horse welfare issues, please email me - potlucky@sbcglobal.net so you won't miss anything.

am re-posting Martita's post from yesterday that closed the weekend's Comments - for maximum exposure.

    the weight of the ribbons
    and the roses---may 31,2009

there is a new book out
that draws us behind the scenes
    to the equestrian caisson duty
and to the soldiers who care for these two times dozen
    black and white horses
who seem to know they have serious work to do every day
    AT
    Arlington National Cemetary
    ,section 60 it is called

where the soldiers who died in iraq and afghanistan are buried
in this book three well known and well traveled photographers
have documented the layers of grief and pride
during the journey from the battle grounds far away
    to back home
and to this final resting place

    ..each soldier ;s death
brings a town of loved ones from all over america

    the horses beginning their day
    just after sun rise
    braided heads harness saddles
    gleaming with brass and medals
    and polished black carriage wheels
..their measured steps rehearsed and like a silent ballet
the elegant wagon carrying the coffin is covered with red white and blue flag
    draped over in perfect corners
    they lead the procession
    to the burial site
marked by the sudden gash into brown earth
cut open like a fresh wound
    in the green green grass

the photos reveal the horses' eyes
to be focused with a precision
    somber gaze forward
    mixed with some kind
    of transluscent expression
..yes it is an other worldly gaze, too
a sense of mission and purpose

    maybe even commitment

    besides their burial duties
these horses also have the special job to
    carry on their backs
veterans recovering from the loss of their limbs
    to me it points out
how barbaro brought me to view the depth
of all the things horses can do
to support soldiers returning to civilian life

    that alone is daunting
    where men fail horses dont
it is obvious, after a while
that these horses help to heal and support the fragmented souls and bodies
of these brave soldiers that gave their all
each horse seems to profoundly and quietly understand
    the severity of their job
    and that is magnificent
and apparent in their expressions and body postures
as they carefully carry their riders around the paddock

as i scan the front page and forum
i note the eternal goodness of many fobs
    who keep on
there are tragic deaths and births and celebrations in families
    human families
    as well as
the continuing mission of horses saved
    and rescued

the brave regulars working for ever
    to end horse slaughter
.prosecutions of those who murder horses through starvation and horrendous neglect
    abuse
    there are those
    then
that give these precious horses a voice
    now

tonight a newLy retired race horse
    finds a green forever home
    PAY ATTENTION IS SAFE
WELL DONE TO THOSE WHO WENT ALL OUT
    TO SAVE HIM
    BRAVO
    SLEEP WELL TONIGHT
    YOU ARE SAFE AND HOME

i reflect on the many who weep tonight ,too
    for horses they lost
like dear shiloh and those like little tonka
    who never had a chance
whose abuser may walk free tomorrow

    magnificent poetry in motion
    a
    commotion of muscled brown
    limbs flashing
    of energy and brilliant eye

    oh yes
there is a weight to the winners circle
    the ribbons and the roses

    on all levels .
    .the effort
the pain and the hard work
when it is all done right
    no short cuts
    no drugs
    no setting the bets
    clean and even ha

    and then the temptations
    the business
    the making the money
    rolling the money
    the greed
    the ego.

    the horse carries it all
    like its own invisible caisson
.the eternal clashes of inner and outer space
    ..choices
    all choices.

.a life can change in one second
oh we learned that didnt we? or did we?
    after the preakness
    on may 20 ,2006

    barbaro
and what he means to me
his image is not dulled by time
    at all
    he is even more vibrant
i reflect on the many who risk their lives to ride these equine athletes
for me ,like good trainers and owners,
it is in the tiny endless
    details
    i see then their integrity
and the gentle yet strong ways of their craft
steering their horse to a safe berth

their actions heard by their horse
    the inner character of integrity
in the split second of their choices.
    .
yes barbaro reminds me that every second of the day
    is another opportunity
    to make something right
for those that cant do it them selves
some songs come then to the fore
that being ride side up .
    .yes
    .
the weight of victory and of being last or loss
    the weight of fame
the weight of the ribbons and the roses
    even more
    to do
    the right and best thing
    no matter what

Our Prayers Go Out To Ignacio Ramirez Family

    Monday, June 1, 2009, 00:38 AM

Veteran exercise rider Ignacio Ramirez sustained fatal injuries Sunday morning when the horse he was aboard flipped over and fell on him in the barn area at Golden Gate Fields.

Ramirez, 58, had just left the barn and was heading to the racetrack for a workout when the filly he was riding became spooked by something and flipped over suddenly.

The filly, a thoroughbred racehorse, was not injured.

"This was a tragic accident," said Golden Gate Fields general manager Robert Hartman. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ignacio's family and friends. It's a very sad day for the entire racing community.

BURT REYNOLDS is a BIG antislaughter advocate - getting Equine Advocates award!

Why haven't we ever heard of this before???

Burt Reynolds to receive Equine Advocates award
    Published: Sunday, May 31, 2009

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Actor Burt Reynolds will be in town Aug. 6 to receive the 2009 Safe Home Equine Protection Award.

The eighth annual Awards Dinner & Charity Auction is planned Aug. 6 at Canfield Casino. Reynolds will be honored for his commitment to the protection of America’s wild and domestic horses and his strong opposition to horse slaughter.

    . . . .

Josephine Abercrombie, owner of Pin Oak Stud in Kentucky is one of the most respected and well-loved people in the horse industry. She will receive The Ellen & Herbert Moelis Equine Savior Award for philanthropy and for her work and dedication to ban the slaughter of America’s horses. Abercrombie operates The Abercrombie Foundation, which grants financial support to charities and educational institutions around the country.

“We are thrilled to be able to honor Burt Reynolds and Josephine Abercrombie, who are both strongly against horse slaughter,” said Equine Advocates’ President Susan Wagner. “Shining a bright spotlight on this issue is something we have done at this event every year since we first started and we will continue to do it until this cruel practice is banned once and for all. Having a major star like Burt Reynolds and a tower in the racing industry like Josephine Abercrombie together in bringing attention to the horse slaughter issue is vitally important to keeping it in the news and in the public eye. We are grateful to them and delighted to be able to honor them.”

Television personality and author Carson Kressley of “How to Look Good Naked” on Lifetime will be on hand to participate in the festivities. Kressley is also an avid horse lover and an accomplished equestrian.

This year’s fund-raiser will be co-chaired by Julie Bonacio and Equine Advocates’ 2008 honoree, Dr. Patricia Hogan. Since 2002, Equine Advocates’ annual benefit has become one of the best attended and anticipated benevolent events of the Saratoga racing and social season. [end excerpts]

    Yole:

I know everyone is busy, but: i just went to the AAHA site to be sure it was still there, and was current, and i find that there have been no updates since January 2009.

Yikes! I send Aides to this site everyday. And it is not current. I could not find mention of course of the Introduction of S727 to the Senate.
And, if the Jan. '09 date is correct, then there is also no content regarding state efforts to bring HS back into the US. Among many topics that have arise in the past 6 months.

What is up with this? Could someone who is in charge of this website please get updated info on AAHS>

I really look forward to someone letting us know when the site will be edited to reflect current events. I won't send anyone to this site until there have been updates, for obvious reasons.

This is supposed to be our flagship website. Is there another AAHS site? Lord, let's not worry about a billboard: we need to get this website up and running--updated on a regular business--long before we consider a billboard urging Oprah to talk about HS...

Posted by: jonnagrey at June 1, 2009 10:06 PM

OK: I dug around and found mouse type that indicated UPDATES/BLOGS. This goes back to early April.

Is there any reason that THIS SEGMENT can be up top in the banner, more prominent, easy to notice?

We're dealing with people who need to get info as fast and as easily as possible. Anyway that the website can be redesigned with the UPDATES actually on the front page?

And, could we have a new headline to replace the one that announces the introduction of HR503?

great thread started at the DB by wrerr1 (of Winding Road Equine Rescue and Retirement, that took part in the Clever Alemont rescue)

In the Horse Rescue Issues folder - the Thread is called Rescuers' Roots--What's Your Story?

    http://forums.delphiforums.com/alexbrown/messages?msg=37749.1

We are asked to tell what has turned us into rescuers/FOBs. Very interesting anecdotes from lots of ppl - and I encourage you to go and read and enjoy and post YOUR story. My post (47 on that Thread) (excerpt)

    37749.47 in reply to 37749.1

Thanks so much for starting this thread - what a wonderful idea! . . .

In short - for me, it runs in the family. What I observed and how I was raised.

My dad used to stop the car on roadtrips, to move turtles off the road; my first visual memory of my mother, is her eye-dropper feeding a baby bird; and my mother's father rescued and released a caterpillar from a 2nd floor walk-up doctor's office waiting room. I was there - I was about, I don't know, 5 or 6 or maybe 8. He noticed a caterpillar on the windowsill, and requested and received a cup from the receptionist to transport the caterpillar from the windowsill, down a flight of stairs to release it outdoors. As he was coming back up the stairs, a woman in the waiting room said, "What a crazy old coot, going up and down the stairs for a caterpillar." He heard that, and replied, in a tone audible throughout the waiting room, "Lady, that caterpillar has just as much right to live as you do."

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

That, my FOB friends, is my particular early family training in rescue. [end crosspost excerpt]

Hiya, FsOB! There was certainly a mix of information here today, some of it very sad. May Ignacio Ramirez rest in peace, following his death in the barn at Golden Gate.

I was a little surprised to see that Mine That Bird won't be brought to NY till after Weds. of this week. Is it possible that his trainer shall be driving the trailer once again?

I never knew how long it takes to confirm a mare's pregnancy; I learn something new about horses each week here. Wouldn't it be great if La Ville Rouge might have a filly, a sister to Barbaro, Nicanor, Lentenor, & "Babynor"?

Alex, I enjoy reading your weekly blog on Eclipse. In today's blue-link, I was stunned to see that Ernie Paragallo is considering taking legal action against the NY Racing Commission. Some people apparently have no shame.

Wishing all here ACN. Peace, RMH

    #### To Laurie H: Your message to poor Phoenix was very comforting last night.
To Angel Dee: Please send up a rainbow in Phoenix's memory. It breaks my heart to think that a severely injured dog was wagging her tail as folks tried in vain to save her....
To Lynne B.: Thank you for sharing Chief's love note. It made my evening!
To Joan Roya: Fabulous news about the results of Baby Isabelle's CAT Scan. I hope that she can be released from the NICU soon and that things have stabilized with her family's difficulties.
To CJ: Love that caterpillar story, CJ! We learn from example. That's why it's so important that adults teach children how to respond to the needs of animals, how to respect them. The thought that youngsters might be responsible for what happened to Phoenix has almost sickened me.
To Sherry, keeping you and your extended family in my thoughts. ####

CHRISTIAN - Many thanks for posting the clip of the Metropolitan Mounted Police . . absolutely awesome!

LAURIE H. - My heartfelt thanks for that very extra special tuck-in for dear Phoenix/Mercy. I was sooo very hoping you would see Lynne's post. Such a beautiful person you are - your special tuck-ins are like Holy Sacraments in my book.

More hugs and thanks to you, LYNNE, thinking of you all day.

God Bless LA VILLE ROUGE (and DYNAFORMER, too!!) and may it be a safe and healthy pregnancy!

Blessings always to JOE SHELTON and especially his new arrival, EDEN!! May she quickly know the love of JOE & CATHY!

C.J. - I loved hearing about your Dad and the caterpillar, but even most especially his response to the lady in the waiting room! Bravo!!
And you brought back fond memories of my Dad stopping to help turtles safely across the road, too!! Another reason to call them "The Greatest Generation"!!

JOAN ROYA - Continued prayers for Baby ISABELLE! Happy for that good news!!

Well today was one of those really rotten days and I just had to get here tonight to be with this grand famblee.

    always with love,
