Barbaro Updates: 699
Updates are now here
Update 4102: Off to the races. We have three runners this afternoon, and a couple of horses schooling in the second race. I am also meeting up with someone who is involved in the horse slaughter movement in Canada. Hopefully should be a fun afternoon!
Update 4101: The atmosphere here is building ahead of this weekend's major races. A studio has been built by the wire on the inside (standardbred track). Of course a few horses figured to spook at that! Woodbine's TV crew has been out most mornings this week taking footage of contenders. I saw a Godolphin horse out on the track. Not sure who it was. A few horses galloping around on the outside Turf track. All connected to the big stakes. Jen has all the coverage: THE CHALLENGE.
My horses all galloped nicely. I had seven sets for Steve, four before the break and three after the break, all of whom went to the gate. Given we had a long break between the break and the gate, I got on my extra horse in between for Anita (Terry Jordan). He was a little kean early in his gallop then settled down.
There is a lot of talk of where people are going this winter. It might have something to do with the cooler fall weather we are experiencing. One exercise rider seemed pretty excited about the prospect of going south. It would be the first time for her. About an hour later she had an accident and had to leave in an ambulance. I think she hurt her back. You just never know.
Update 4100: Last evening was spent at the races, for Wednesday night racing. We had two runners and one winner, so a good evening's work. A late night but fun night! This weekend is the big weekend for racing here at Woodbine and everything seems to be ramping up. It's the $2 million Canadian International. ESPN is coming and doing their Saturday telecast from here: Doctor Dino Leads Canadian International.
In memory of John Hettinger please keep calling and writing.

OK, Margaret, there won't be a second time.
Get in line behind me.
