Update 3396: I am going to have to root for Big Truck: Big Truck to Benefit ReRun on Derby Day, excerpt:
Felice Busto, vice president of ReRun said, "We're thrilled to have the 'big' horse to publicize the 'Running for ReRun' program and encourage other owners to participate so we can place more ex-racehorses in good homes. While many owners like Mr. Fein care about what happens to their horses after racing, the reality is that for others, the horses are disposable after their last race.
"We only rely on support from owners, breeders, fans, and the racing industry to be able to give more ex-racehorses a second chance when their racing careers have ended," Busto added.
ReRun.
Update 3395: A chilly start to the morning this morning at Woodbine, but a bright sunny day so things did warm up. I had seven sets. There are now three of us riding for Steve in the morning's. Myself, Jodie who has been with us for a few weeks, and now Mark who is from India and spent some time in Dubai and has been at Woodbine before. Anyway, a good group with which to work. My horses went nicely. My last set went to the gate to stand. He stood well and was a little wild as I set off from the gate to start his mile gallop. Once we got into our gallop all was well. Another pleasant morning's work.
Update 3394: Steve Haskin takes a look at the new Derby arrival, Big Brown, and reviews some of the recent works of the contenders: Haskin's Derby Report: Early Thoughts.
Please keep calling and writing.
