    Barbaro Updates: 518

    updates are now here.

Update 3125: Barbaro inspires a museum exhibit at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame: New museum exhibit feature on equine medicine inspired by Barbaro.

Update 3124: Edgar Prado is among the twelve finalists for this year's Racing Hall of Fame: 12 Finalists Named to Hall of Fame.

Update 3123: A short morning's work this morning at Sam Houston race Park. I had seven sets and was finished by 9:25 am. As short as it was, it was not too simple. One of my horses has been getting stronger all this week. Today was no exception and there were a couple of times I was considering pulling him up before I got run off with. We did manage to get around and not get run off with, but it was not pretty ... and I was exhausted. He had done some gate work last week and I think that tuned him up a little bit! Anyway, the remainder all went nicely with one standing in the gate and the the others galloping.

Update 3122: War Pass, who won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, has defeated Pyro three times, and was the winter favorite for the Kentucky Derby until Pyro's impressive win in the Risen Star, makes his debut on Sunday at Gulfstream one race after the Fountain of Youth, a Derby prep: War Pass set for first start of year on Sunday.

Today's racing from Aqueduct and Laurel has been canceled: Aqueduct, Laurel cancel Friday cards.

Please keep calling and writing, consider coming to DC for Americans Against Horse Slaughter and sign the Petition for DC.

Morning skritches to the BBH, Sir JH, Gorgeous George and the rest of the superior gang up there in Equine Heaven.

    For down here:

    MORNING POST, SHELLEYA, DEBRA, WI

    STRATEGY FOR FRIDAY FEBRUARY 22

AMERICANS AGAINST HORSE SLAUGHTER will be a historic event that can change the future of American horses. We need a huge turnout. Please consider attending. Plans are really coming together. For details go to DB thread Official Information for DC Event

For those of you who cannot attend, there will be much you can do to help from home to make a huge impact to push this legislation and play your part. Senators and Representatives will be in their districts starting tomorrow Feb. 16th – 24th and then again on March 15th-30th. While they are home meetings can be scheduled, letters can be dropped off and calls can be made into the local offices. Also, we need to bombard DC with hundreds of calls and faxes during the days of March 4th and 5th. Those phones need to be ringing off the hook and fax machines busy.

For this reason, we are bringing back, by popular demand, FREE FOR ALL FRIDAY! We would encourage you to use this day to make appointments with your legislators for March 4th and 5th. Even if you cannot attend, there will be plenty of knowledgeable folks there that can attend a meeting on your behalf. Just tell them that, as a constituent, you are authorizing a member of Americans Against Horse Slaughter to meet on your behalf. Once you get a meeting set, contact Julie Caramante so she can put it on the schedule. Also, email a letter to Julie addressed to the person we are meeting expressing your desire to have him/her support any legislation to end horse slaughter and the transportation of horses to slaughter. This letter will be presented at the meeting.

In addition, when calling your legislators, please mention our Americans Against Horse Slaughter reception and offer to email them an invitation. Also, please call on your own Representatives and Senators and ask them to attend our event as well as to support any legislation that would ban horse slaughter and the transport of our horses to slaughter.

WE ARE BARBARO’s VOICE. Let it be heard!!
    Thanks for all you do,
    Shelley and Debra

Subject: Hillary Clinton promotes Tyson, wears fur, dumped a cat & endorses animal death

To view the thread go to:
    http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/luciedove/vpost?id=2510923

Subject: Hillary Clinton promotes Tyson, wears fur, dumped a cat &
    endorses animal death
Hillary Clinton helped make Don Tyson the nation's biggest butcher of
    cows, pigs and chickens.

She invested in cattle futures (the cattle whose deaths she invested in
    had no future).

She has publicly endorsed the brutal Heifer Int'l projects in which
baby animals are shipped alone overseas to slavery and death.

Clinton served on the animal abusing WalMart board.

Her husband allowed Dan Glickman to muzzle the truth about Mad Cow, Mad
Pig, Mad Chicken, Mad Deer, Mad Fish, Mad Sheep and other spongiform
    encephalopathy diseases.

She has voted for vivisector money and for campaigns in which people
    and animals were bombed.

    She has 4 fur coats.

Hillary Clinton, then First Lady claimed that only with the arrival
of Socks and his toy mouse did the White House become a
    home.

Hillary Clinton, now US presidential elections, actually dumped Socks,
the Clintons presidential cat who graced her husband, Bill
Clintons years in office. Such gracious treatment of the presidential
    pet.

She really should be on Cat Fancy's Most Wanted List.

    Kucinich, Kucinich, Kucinich.

The only candidate who voted against the absurd,
civil-rights-infringing AETA (Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act). He is vegan and he his wife
have been lifelong supporters of very progressive animal welfare and
    animal rights issues.

If animal welfare issues are an important criteria for you, Kucinich is
    lightyears beyond any other candidate.

While Obama has said that he supports the rights of hunters and
sportsmen, he has not gone out of his way to stress the point, and has
notas some other candidates havedressed up in camo and gunned down
animals with the television cameras in tow.

Obama's personal interactions with animals, in fact, appear to be much
more humane. He has joined the fight against puppy mills, and will
appear in a new book by Jana Kohl about her rescued dog, Baby, who survived
a decade in a puppy mill.

And Obama has said that "as a condition for letting me run for
President, my daughters Malia and Sasha extracted a promise from Michelle and I
that they could get a dog after the election, win or lose. So they're
heavily invested in this campaign, if only for it to be over so we can
    get our dog."

-----------------------------Kaballah said: She has publicly endorsed
the brutal Heifer Int'l projects in which baby animals are shipped alone
    overseas to slavery and death.

Excuse me? Do the baby animals need nannies, or what? We are talking
animals, right? Would it be better if the humans who benefit from those
    baby animals died instead? ---------------------------------------
    Why Animal Rights?

Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather, and going to
circuses and zoos. Many of us bought our beloved pets at pet shops,
had guinea pigs, and kept beautiful birds in cages. We wore wool and
silk, ate McDonalds burgers, and fished. We never considered the
impact of these actions on the animals involved. Why should animals have
    rights?

In his book Animal Liberation, Peter Singer states that the basic
principle of equality does not require equal or identical treatment; it
requires equal consideration. This is an important distinction when talking
about animal rights. People often ask if animals should have rights,
and quite simply, the answer is Yes! Animals surely deserve to
live their lives free from suffering and exploitation. Jeremy Bentham, the
founder of the reforming utilitarian school of moral philosophy,
stated that when deciding on a beings rights, The question is not
Can they reason? nor Can they talk? but Can they
suffer? In that passage, Bentham points to the capacity for suffering as the
vital characteristic that gives a being the right to equal
consideration. The capacity for suffering is not just another characteristic like
the capacity for language or higher mathematics. All animals have the
ability to suffer in the same way and to the same degree that humans do.
    They feel pain, !
pleasure, fear, frustration, loneliness, and motherly love. Whenever
we consider doing something that would interfere with their needs, we
are morally obligated to take them into account.

Supporters of animal rights believe that animals have an inherent
wortha value completely separate from their usefulness to humans. I
believe that every creature with a will to live has a right to live free
from pain and suffering. Animal rights is not just a philosophyit is a
social movement that challenges societys traditional view that all
nonhuman animals exist solely for human use. As PETA founder Ingrid
Newkirk has said, When it comes to pain, love, joy, loneliness, and
fear, a rat is a pig is a dog is a boy. Each one values his or her life and
    fights the knife.

Only prejudice allows us to deny others the rights that we expect to
have for ourselves. Whether its based on race, gender, sexual
orientation, or species, prejudice is morally unacceptable. If you wouldnt
eat a dog, why eat a pig? Dogs and pigs have the same capacity to feel
pain, but it is prejudice based on species that allows us to think of
one animal as a companion and the other as dinner.

    * Animals Are Not Ours to Eat
    * Animals Are Not Ours to Wear
    * Animals Are Not Ours to Experiment On
    * Animals Are Not Ours to Use for Entertainment
    * Animals Are Not Ours to Abuse in Any Way

Banning Horse Slaughter at the State Level

In addition to seeking a ban on horse slaughter and export for slaughter at the federal level, we are intensifying efforts by also seeking it at the state level.

It is a twofold strategy that will give America's horses another option for success in ending the horrors of horse slaughter.

    NEW JERSEY

NEW JERSEY RESIDENTS, here is how you can help.

Email us with your name, address and telephone number telling us you are strongly opposed to horse slaughter, and give us a brief explanation why. No attachments please.

If you are a horse owner, please include this.

We will take your emails to make a presentation CD for distribution to New Jersey state legislators and the Governor. This is a exciting new format for getting your voice heard in a completely different way.

If your U.S. Representative in Washington DC has yet to co-sponsor HR 503, write, telephone or fax them respectfully urging them to do so at your earliest opportunity.

This will support our effort at the state level and strenghten our cause in Washington DC.

The good news is that nearly all U.S. Representatives from New Jersey have co-sponspored as of this writing, as well as both U.S. Senators.

Just as an fyi - Jag dumped me in about 3 feet of powder snow yesterday. I had to walk back to the barn in thigh high snow. What a workout! The fall felt like falling into a feather bed. I was laughing so hard but puffing and sweating like a fiend by the time I rendezvous'd with Jag at the indoor arena. He looked at me as if to say "what took you so long? See! It's no fun going out in the deep snow!"

Everynoe read this maybe we have some grounds here.

I have read through the comments here reading what the horse owners and non horse owner say. A couple of things here that need clarifying. The American Indians belived the horse to be a Sacred animal, there fore it was never abused or eaten. One thing missing from all of the statements is the fact that in 1958 President Eisenhower passed a National Law declaring horse slaughter ILLEGAL. So this law has been broken hundreds of thousands of times here in the United States. How did that law get buried to begin with? Senator Graig who is trying to stop the passage of the horse slaughter bill has been admonished by the Senate for using funds ILLEGALLY in his recent arrest. Look it up. Lastly, and this goes hand in hand with the Eisenhower law, Our founding fathers were the first to pass the law protecting our American horeses by declaring them "COMPAINION ANIMALS" and NOT LIVESTOCK because they were side by side with us humans fighting and building this country. So to all the over breeders that need an outlet for what you call your non worthy horses and proslaughter folks, It is time you face the fact that horse slaughter is and has been ILLEGAL in the United States for over 200 hundreds years and if you condone or profit from it then you are guilty as the foreign owned plants that kill them to line their pockets.

Posted by: Renee Antaya at February 22, 2008 4:46 PM

    Renee
I did read it and am wondering myself. What is this law not enforced??? Anybody???

    When Congress Forgets

There is a statute known as the 'Humane Slaughter Act of 1958'. This statute was signed into law by President Eisenhower during the time the 'Sputnik' went into space. This simple, concise statute has been completely ignored by the USDA; this agency has never enforced it for horses. By virtue of the HSA of 1958, horse slaughter is, and has been, illegal since 1958. Congress forgot about that.

The statute stipulates that only one blow to the head of any animal being slaughtered is allowable to achieve insensibility. This does not happen with horses. They cannot be restrained due to the length of their necks, and additionally the captive bolt was designed for bovines, not equines. Horses' brains are too far back in the skull to make the use of the bolt efficient. Horses regain consciousness thirty seconds after being struck, if they are struck at all. Horses are fully aware they are being vivisected.

Rather than enforcing the existing statute, Congress has been unsuccessfully attempting to pass an amendment to the 'Horse Protection Act of 1971.' The 'American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act' (introduced in the 107th Congress) is actually the HSA of 1958 as applied to horses with a 'no export' clause. Congress should enforce the HSA of 1958 and amend the 'Horse Protection Act of 1971' to include the prohibition of exports of American horses to other countries for slaughter.

The HSA of 1958 prohibits the slaughter of horses for any purpose. Carnivore food, hair extensions for humans and show horses, and any other products that can be extracted from a dead equine are prohibited by the statute. There are operating equid slaughterhouses in NJ (Bravo Packing) as well at least two other states. The American public is unaware of these plants as they do not slaughter for human consumption. These plants are operating in violation of a federal statute and this statute must be enforced and these plants closed.

Hi, gang. With all the talk about the return of the PMU industry for the sake of a new drug, there are some very informative posts over at the BBG thread for the MHR PMU Mares. Stephanie has just posted a VERY GRAPHIC video. Also within a few posts above the link to the video, is that article that Cathy Potter posted at Comments about the torture the mares endure. ANYWAY -

I can't look at the videos, I envision the worst for them as it is with just the descriptions and snippets posted here. My heart and soul cannot take the graphic pictures, I have a real hard time just seeing the Pedigree commercials with the dogs in cages waiting for a home. The images don't go away for a long time. But I will pass any information along for others hoping that they will sit up and take note what is happening in this country.

EXTRA FRIDAY 2/22 NATIONAL TARGET LIST (HAHS)

PREFACE - crossposting from a recent ABR Daily Strategy Thread: please follow these guidelines when calling legislators on the HAHS lists as well; and with the Reps ask for the aide handling HR 503.

Please everyone, we need your help! When making your calls, ask to speak with the legislative aide who is handling S311. We are trying to get conversations going with the aides before heading to DC. Please try and collect any info on their objections to co sponsoring the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act.

Also, please do not post any conversations/info from the aides here. Please email myself or Shelley.

    Thanks in advance. Debra, WI

    www.campaigningforbarbaro.com

and now back to my usual spiel:

FIRST THINGS FIRST - Stress the importance of cosponsorship & getting S 311 / HR 503 to a vote.

Heads-Up - per Daryl Smoliak's feedback/ request: Ask the Senators who may support (plan to vote for) S 311 but don't want to cosponsor, to send a brief "letter of support" to Senator Mary Landrieu, sponsor and promoter of the Bill.

Here's something to add to ALL your contacts please - and the 800 numbers for your convenience on all calls.

IMO - convey the website vetsforequinewelfare.org to all your contacts - to counteract the position of the 2 big vet ass'ns. Links to VEW's two 2007 antislaughter releases and their recently-released 2008 WHITE PAPER are at the ABR/DB Thread noted near the end of this Post.

If long distance charges are a problem, use these DC 800 numbers and ask for the legislators by name (or ask for extension, last 5 numbers of each legislator's office phone).

    800-828-0498

    800-459-1887

    800-614-2803

You know the drill - don't address this list until AFTER you have followed today's ABR Strategy and the instructions of your Group Leader (and if you don't have one, get one, or become one!) - contact our intrepid State Group co-ordinator, Stephanie Breaux sbreaux1@verizon.net

AND use the CURRENT/NEW Talking Points from ABR Strategy when contacting this extra HAHS list as well as when contacting the ABR daily lists of Senators: (NOTE NEW SUGGESTION/ CAVEAT FROM ABR STRATEGY, JUST BEFORE Prior HS History above the LIST OF LEGISLATORS below.)

    1. Let [the legislators] know that two of the slaughter houses in this country are closed permanently [since January], and the third (Cavel) has lost their appeal and [is now also closed]. It is URGENT that we now get this legislation passed to STOP THE TRANSPORT of horses to Canada and Mexico. It's VERY important that you stress the cruel and inhumane way these horses are transported. Now is the time to focus on the fact that closing down our slaughter houses is NOT enough but that we must pass this FEDERAL legislation to stop the transport of American horses for slaughter.

    2. Let your Senators know that we NEED them as co-sponsors for S311 to get this on the calendar and to the floor for a vote.

    3. Tell your Congressman that we need their cosponsorship for HR503 to get this bill out of committee and to the floor for a vote.

    4. Dispel the "unwanted" horse theory. Read John Holland's information for more talking points.

    5. Closing of all three slaughter houses in the United States helps to reinforce our efforts. We can now dispel the idea that American jobs will be lost due to the end of slaughter. Only Mexico and Canada will now profit from OUR horses being slaughtered!! This is a very important point and one that you should all make when talking to your legislators.

    Rhetorial Question Du Jour:

ANY EXTRA TIME/ENERGY/PASSION FOR THE HORSES?
Here is today's (Friday 2/22/08) extra National Target List from HAHS (Humanity Against Horse Slaughter). These legislators are targeted by other groups on specific days, so our voices add to the impact.

Don't forget to mention S 311 (Senators) & HR 503 (Representatives); ask them to cosponsor - and please use the Talking Points from the ABR Strategy (posted above), reasons why to support the end of horse slaughter and export for slaughter NOW.

Changed Circumstances call for a Fresh Look with an Open Mind. The closure of Cavel is a HUGE changed circumstance.

PLEASE NOTE: Per the ongoing ABR national strategy "...[I]t is important when you make your calls, you request they support and VOTE YES for ANY legislative measure that will ban horse slaughter and export for slaughter. In addition to the Daily Call List, please contact your own senators and representative with this message."

adding this CAVEAT from recent ABR Strategy:

"Remember…….these calls are to gain co-sponsors and support for HR503 and S311. As difficult as it is, please concentrate on the transport of the horses to slaughter more than the conditions in Mexico. We can’t let anyone who is not well informed come to the conclusion that it would be better to have the plants in this country because of the conditions in Mexico."

don't know if this has been posted here yet, haven't had a chance to read today's Comments - just finished catching up with yesterday's!

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

IL House Driver's Education and Safety Committee
Sends Double Decker Ban to Floor for Vote

Springfield, IL (February 21, 2008) – Today, the Illinois House Driver’s Education and Safety Committee unanimously approved (11-0) legislation that will outlaw the use of double deck trailers for the purpose of hauling horses in the State of Illinois. The bill, in response to several tragic and deadly accidents involving horses on double deck trailers, has been placed on the House calendar where it will await time for consideration.

A bill offered by the leading pro-horse slaughter advocate, Representative Jim Sacia, was also to be considered during today’s hearing, but he did not call it up for consideration. His bill is being offered as a vehicle to language that would overturn a ban against horse slaughter overwhelmingly passed by the Illinois General Assembly last year.

“Representative Sacia continues to be out of step with residents of Illinois and the entire country on this widely supported issue,” said Chris Heyde, deputy director of Government and Legal Affairs for the Animal Welfare Institute. “His persistent attacks has nothing to do with animal welfare or reason. He appears to simply have a grudge against horses and their humane treatment.”

It is expected that Representative Sacia will offer his bill next week when the Committee reconvenes. In addition, pro-horse slaughter organizations such as the Farm Bureau are considering an amendment that would allow for the use of double deck trailers should one ever be designed to haul horses. No double deck trailers are currently designed to haul horses for numerous welfare and safety issues. To do so properly they would be too high for use on highways and extremely dangerous because of their height.

AWI encourages everyone to continue checking our website for updates on the Illinois legislation and our campaign to end horse slaughter, based out of Washington, DC. Be sure to bookmark http://www.awionline.org/legislation/horse_slaughter/whats_new.htm.

I personally preferred a hackamore (no bit in mouth, but great control) for plain riding - wondering if variations are allowed. (I believe some of the hunters / jumpers are allowed to compete using hackamores, not sure though.) Just wondering. Cordial regrets from IN Senator Evan Bayh

Just wanted to let you know that IN Senator Evan Bayh, who FINALLY signed on as a cosponsor not too long ago, responded to my faxed Invite to the AAHS event coming up in DC. Not him personally, but an aide called me the same day I sent the fax. The phone rang, I said hello, and the voice says, This is Ryan from Senator Bayh's office; the Senator asked him to call to say he couldn't make the Reception but wanted to thank me for the invite and the nice letter (I wrote in the cover fax, along with the invitation & the PR, how thrilled I was when he signed on, and asked him to try to help move the Bill).

I advised Ryan that the invite was for legislators AND STAFF and encouraged him to RSVP for staff to Julie's email by the 29th of Feb.

ANYWAY I thought it was nice that my fax was so quickly read and so personally responded to.

(Senator Bayh is a class act; he cosponsored S 1915 but dragged his heels before FINALLY signing on for S 311, and when he did it was a BIG DEAL for us here in Indiana.)

to sign this petition to save some feral cats.

The Cape May, New Jersey Cats Need Your Support!

Sign the Petition and show your support for Cape May's cats!

The City of Cape May has been pressured by The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to abolish its successful humane cat management program known as Trap-Neuter-Return - a move that the city does not want to make and that would endanger the lives of all cats - owned, stray and feral.

Cape May was one of the first local governments to implement Trap-Neuter-Return as the policy for feral cats - a decision which has proven enormously successful. Cape May's stray and feral cat population has dropped 80 percent since the program's inception in the mid-1990s, from around 450 cats to under 100 today. The population continues to decline.

If the program is forced to end, outdoor cats will be trapped and killed. Nationwide, 70 to 72% of cats entering shelters are killed, and for feral cats, this statistic rises to virtually 100%.

Take action now by signing the Petition!

I have seen the power of this family's prayers and healing thoughts and I feel very good that all will be fine, thanks to all of you, without you, I don't know what I would have done. Sit in fear no doubt.

I love you all so much.

Thank you will never be enough.

    Love,
    Verna

This is the slippery slope I was talking about recently. Butterfly Belle, who we all know by now carried Russell Baze into history, is entered to run AGAIN today at Santa Anita. Her last race was a $40K claiming race; this one is a $34K claiming race. Dropping, always dropping in price. She didn't win last time so, drop her down a level and get what money you can!

Please run safe sweet Belle. We need you home.

One correction. I read the race info wrong; Butterfly Belle's race is a $32K claimer!

Feb. 22 Cherokee Devotional (sharing email from Harriet Brillianthawk)

We are persons with a desire for variety. Rigid routine can make our spirits sag. Following the same path at the same time every day, repeating and repeating without the slightest change, dulls the spirit. Life gets to be routine because we let our minds fall into a rut that has no future. Nagging fear enters when living falls into inertia, and we are troubled not so much by what is going on around us as what is going on inside. There are many words for spirit, but the Cherokee call it a da nv to, or life, v le ni to nv. It means to show some initiative, some serious intention. It is not something we only hope to have one day. It is a necessity---moisture that feeds the roots and sunlight that draws new life. But it must be stirred up.

Warriors stir up themselves to go to battle---and so must we.

New museum exhibit feature on equine medicine inspired by Barbaro

A new exhibit on equine medicine called “Ride On!” will be presented at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame this summer.

The exhibit, which was inspired by the struggle to save 2006 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) winner Barbaro, is scheduled to open in the Peter McBeam Gallery on July 20.

“We will focus on what is being done now and what was done in the past to heal Thoroughbred racehorses, as well as the challenges involved with dealing with a horse,” said Beth Sheffer, the Museum’s curator of collections.

The work of Dean Richardson, D.V.M, and his colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center with Barbaro increased public awareness of equine veterinary medicine. A proposal on an exhibit based on Barbaro evolved into one centered on the medical treatment of Thoroughbreds due to laminitis, colic, and broken bones.

Sheffer said the problems faced by Barbaro and Secretariat will be examined, as well as other notable horses like Tim Tam and Spanish Riddle.

“The first section of the exhibit is designed to explain why we have such a love affair with the horse,” Sheffer said. “It also discusses the specific feelings a racehorse invokes as a sports hero.”

Besides the anatomy of the horse, the exhibit will show how injuries can occur on and off the track, surgical procedures, lameness issues, and the healing process.

Several organizations and individuals have helped with the development of the exhibit but Sheffer still needs additional material, including fan mail, memorabilia, videos, movies, and promotional information supporting equine medical research.

Sheffer can be contacted via e-mail at nmrcollect@racingmuseum.net

Called Prayers for Windchill, about a 9mon colt left in the freezing temps that was saved. Someone asked if you could include him in your tuckins (do you still do them?) as he could use all the help out there

    Thanks!

Praying for little Windchill. The picture of him laying under the red blankie, all dreamy eyed, with hay in his mouth, is priceless. He has known a lot of love lately. And that humans are good. God Bless him.

I am still having computer problems. How is Wind Chill doing? I am so concerned. What a fighter he is and I wish his owner could be left in a frozen ditch without clothes or food or water for a few weeks. Dangit. The little fellow suffered so much. ###maribel, chief is fine and thinks he is suffering greatly as his Nilla wafers has been cut down. Dont you think we love our Chief and your Willie so much as they made us laugh so much? ###LynneBrown, I think Chief may have lost 3 ounces. ha, ###I really hate it about Winning Colors. She was great. I think it should have been a happy retirement for her without having too many foals. ###Have to be at the hospital at 6:00am wed morning for a steroid epidural and other tests on my back. I will be home around noon. I dont mind but 6am and no coffee!!! as felix says YIKES.

God, please wrap Windchill in your warming arms and keep your angels near him all tonight so that he may sleep peacefully, his legs becoming warmer with each hour.

And grant rest and peace to the keepers of Windchill's heart and soul as they sit the night through with him.

Sandra:) I'm happy to SEE you!!! :) Poor *CHIEF* he must surely feel somewhat like a 'step-child'! Don't they make low-cal Nilla Wafers? I wonder if they have Nilla Wafers in the 100 calorie snack boxes???

I'll be thinking of you, Sandra...no coffee and a horrid epidural...I'm SORRY! and I'll be holding GOOD thoughts they can make your back feel 'alotsa' better!!!

Keep checking in, 'cause it's not the same without 'yole' here...ya hear?! :)

I sure do hope little Windchill will be getting better...and I REALLY agree with Sandra...lets find his previous 'peeples' and put them in the snow w/no clothes or blankies!!! HOW CAN PEOPLE DO THINGS LIKE THIS TO ANIMALS...HOW!!!! I will NEVER understand things like this:( KARMA WILL GET THEM.....I JUST *KNOW* IT!!
