    Barbaro Updates: 259

    updates are now here.

Update 1765: Tiago, a key contender for the Kentucky Derby after his suprising win in the Santa Anita Derby, has had his first work since that victory going 3/4s in 1:13.2: Shirreffs's confidence in Tiago grows, excerpt:

"This was just a work to get him back into the routine," Shirreffs said. "He came out of the race very well - surprisingly well considering the level of competition. He hasn't backed off his feed and he went back to the track with a little bounce in his step."

Tiago worked alone, and went the first furlongs in 13 seconds and change, Shirreffs said.

"He worked pretty steady from there," he said.

Update 1764: For those who are planning events on April 29 at locations other than Delaware Park, could you please e-mail me a paragraph about the event, current number of people planning to attend and contact information necessary for those wishing to attend. I will use this information to update our page on the April 29 events.

Update 1763: Water water everywhere, but not a drop to drink (for the horses) ... that's what it felt like this morning as we faced another morning of grim weather, this time without any power in the barn (a generator was acquired later so we could get some running water). There is simply nothing good to say about weather like today!

I shedrowed seven in total, starting with Hawty Creek. She was in good form. She will be entered tomorrow again for a race on saturday ... I am hoping she runs while I am away, and can then have a few easy days. My next two were for Tim, Grandma and Drop Kick Murphy. Both felt good after their works at the end of last week. My next four also went well making it an incident-free morning in our shedrow. Lets hope someone can fix the weather, its too much now!

Here are some nice Fair Hill photos from Wendy's saturday visit.

Update 1762: Curlin is the betting choice at the close of the final Derby pool at 7-2, Street Sense was next at 6-1, Circular Quay 9-1 and NoBiz 10-1: Curlin Favored at 7-2 in Final Derby Pool Each of the first five from the Bluegrass are planning to move forward to the Derby: First Five in Bluegrass Pointing to Derby, and finally in Derby news Circular Quay, who ducked the Wood Memorial to train up to the Derby, worked 3/4s on sunday: Circular Quay, Rags to Riches in 6-Furlong Drill.

    I hope you enjoy them.

When you begin a great work you can't expect to finish it all at once; therefore do you and your brothers press on, and let nothing discourage you till you have entirely finished what you have begun.

Now, brother, as for me, I assure you I will press on, and the contrary winds may blow strong in my face, yet I will go forward until I have finished, and I would have you do the same ...

Though you may hear birds singing on this side and that side, you must not take notice, but hear me when I speak to you, and take it to heart, for you may always depend that what I say shall be true.

    Martita,

I am so glad to read your post. I agree with you completely.

Fellow FsOB - let's make this week the week we overwhelm the legislators with calls. Thank you to Shelley A. and Debra, Stephanie for your great strategy and to all of those State leaders who are so giving of their time. We MUST get this legislation passed to prevent our horses being shipped to Canada and Mexico as we hear is happening.

    Do it for Barbaro

Posted by: Michelle GBI NE OH at April 16, 2007 12:57 PM

    Good Morning FOB’s

This week will be HUGE for the anti slaughter movement. Everyone has worked so hard but now we’re asking you to work just a little bit harder for this week.

Following is a message from Habitat for Horses:

“On April 17th, 18th and 19th,Habitat for Horses, the Society for Animal Protective Legislation and the Texas Humane Legislative Network are urging everyone to call or fax their Federal legislators and ask that the American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act (HR503) (S311) be brought to the floor for a final vote. We are urging everyone to make what hopefully will be the FINAL call to the United States House of Representatives and Senate. While horse slaughter has come to an end in the US, horses are being moved into Mexico for slaughter. Only passage of the AHSPA will close the borders to America's horses.

During the week ending March 31st, 706 horses were slaughtered in the US for the dining pleasure of those in foreign countries. In the following week, NO horses were slaughter in the US for human consumption. This is the closest we have ever come to completely ending the slaughter of American horses, but we aren’t there yet. This is the final push, and when the AHSPA is passed, we can truly celebrate. Now is the most important time of all and it will take the efforts of each one of us to finally bring it to a close. Never think that your phone or fax will not make a difference! Let Your Voice Be Heard!

We need as many people as possible to contact both the Senate and House members by fax or phone. If you cannot contact all of them, please at least contact the members on the committees that are currently holding these bills and ask that they be released for a floor vote.”

    1. Call your OWN representatives regarding HR503and S311

    2. If you have joined a state group, call on your scheduled rotation. If you have not yet joined a group, please consider doing so. We need as many constituents as possible from every state.

    3. Call everyone you know and beg them to call their reps on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

    4. Call committee members and urge them to move the bill out of committee and to the floor for a vote.

Alex has links posted to all three committees and to all co-sponsors for your convenience. There you will also find links to find out more about the state program and to the state leaders. We have tried to make everything easily accessible. And don’t forget to check the co-sponsor list so you don’t call those that are already on board.

PLEASE….give it your all this week. If you think one person won’t make a difference, you’re WRONG!!

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; Indeed it’s the only thing that ever has”………………………..Margaret Mead

Thanks and have a great day and a wonderful week.

Re horses "being livestock," if they were indeed livestock those of us with horses would not have to pay sales tax on the feed (because we would be eating the horse eventually, you see). This is how wopperjawed the logic is in California.

Seems to me the politicians want it both ways.

getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of
getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals.

It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "feed an
animal in need" for free. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their
corporate sponsors/advertiser s use the number of daily visits to donate
food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.

    Good morning, all!

Wendy, thank you for the slideshow! It was just like being there. Those barns are gorgeous (not to mention the horses :)

Alex, safe trip and happy birthday to your grandmother. It will be nice for you to get away. And thanks for arranging for the updates.

Part of my town is cut off due to flooding, but thankfully I'm OK. It seems the weather has not been right since January when Barbaro's health began to go downhill. I don't remember a spring as cold and ugly as this one here in CT.

    Good morning my family.

I hope all in the path of the storm are staying safe.

Husband is going into work late today and I was talking to him about Barbaro & how it just doesn't seem how it has been this long, as my heart still aches for him.
Then our conversation led to horse slaughter. You know, my husband never ceases to amaze me. I was telling him about the strategy for this week and how we are doing things, and then mentioned what Debbie LA had written about the good 'olé boys who just won't change their position and how we here in Ohio have been battling the farm bureau and just not moving them.
My husband looked at me and said, "they are telling lies and hitting below the belt, while you all are fighting this like adults", I said, well yes we are. That is when he said "if you want to get their attention, then you need to stoop to their level." Knowing my husband, I was afraid of just what he meant...LOL
That is when he said "if you want them to listen, YOU stop doing the talking and get a bunch of kids to write in, then you have the kids group together with their horses and ponies and have a picture taken that says, please don't eat my and then put in the name of their horse/pony. That will get their attention, especially if you get some media coverage, what do the people who make commercials say, that babies and animals make the best commercial, well they would for this too, because how many lawmakers what to look like they are responsible for killing a child's horse or pony."
Needless to say, if you knew my husband, you would have been sitting in shock right along with me.
But let me ask you. Do you think this might just have some impact? I know we have talked about putting a face to horse slaughter and rescue horses. Do you think it would be a bigger impact, if we had children with their horses & ponies standing, with a frown, or pleading look, holing a sign that said such a thing, maybe a group of children and try to get it out there for all to see, after all who can resist a child and when it comes to lawmakers, they will be the first to tell you, they don't want to dirty their hands where children are concerned, because they know full well, this is an area that gets voters attention.
Just thought I would put it out their for your consideration. I am thinking of going and having pictures taken with my children and our preachers horses holding a sign. I know they could pull it off as they love horses as much as I do. Then sending the picture to the lawmakers to put a face on this issue, but not the face of a horse, the face of a horse with it's child owner. This may just get them to see it from another angle, that horses aren't livestock, they ARE our very much loved companions, just another way of showing it. I dare a lawmaker to tell my child, I am for killing your horse. I don't think they have what it takes to do that.
OK, there is my rants and thoughts for today, well for now.
    Off to make my calls.

Have a wonderful and safe day.

    Love to all,
    Verna

Rosie cam.....Rosie and her new foal had some staffers from Miracle Horse Rescue pay them a little visit inside their pen early evening yesterday. Rosie permitted the staffers to pet the little girl, while Mommie dined on her oats. So it seems that Rosie has placed her full trust in the good people at Miracle Horse Rescue, and young Angel seems to be taking a liking towards them also. Of course, Mommie has her hands full as the little girl is beginning to romp about the pen and befriend a host of chickens from the farm that frequent their home. Isn't life grand!! :)

Jonna, thanks for the kind words about Fay. She IS coming along slowly, but that is to be expected. But doing well.
As for hubby, well, I hate to admit this, but he is not a big fan of horses :( Just has never had good luck with them, they always try to throw him off, walk him off a cliff or run him into trees. I keep telling him, they are not like driving a car...LOL
But for him to get so worked up over this tells me two things, deep down inside, he does like them, just doesn't trust them :) and two, I am sooooo passionate about this, that I infect him with the fight, my frustration is just, overwhelming and he is my outlet and the next thing I know, he is a upset about it as I am.
He is something else, that is for sure...LOL
But, he did give me a great idea this morning.
He always has good ideas, mostly about life tho.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for your thoughts,

For those of you who know Dawn from MI, you also have heard by now that her father passed away.

I heard from Dawn this morning and she wanted to pass on that it meant so much to Dawn that everyone prayed for her Dad in life, as well as now.

Dawn is too broken hearted right now to respond to everyone but she will respond at some time.

Please continue to pray for Dawn and her family at this time.

    MORNING REPOST

Dear Barbaro,You beautiful beautiful boy, I was looking at your pictures today. Something that has always been hard for me since you left us.
I looked at you and in my head I knew it had been 11 weeks since you left us, but my heart, that is another story. My heart just does not want to accept that you are gone.

When I look at those beautiful dark eyes and see the shimmer of life, love and hope, I just cry. Your just so beautiful. I look at the pictures of you before you were injured, and you take my breath away, you are perfect, just perfect, not a single flaw to be found.

Then I look at the pictures after. Yes, you may be thinner and not as toned, but still beautiful, still perfect with those big dark eyes looking at me saying, I am so happy, I am so proud, I am so loved.

Then I remember... you are gone. You were just bigger than life and to look at your pictures, it's hard to remember you are gone, such presents you have, even now.

You captured my heart and you will forever live in my heart, because a piece of it belongs to you. I don't give my heart willingly and freely, but I didn't have to give it to you. You stole it the first time I laid eyes on you and you have been in it since.

I love you now and forever beautiful boy. You will never be forgotten, for I will surly die with you in my heart, a place reserved for those that are mine, eve though you were never mine, but I felt like you were, thanks to your mom and dad letting me be a part of your life.

I just wanted to let you know how much I love you and miss you and that I will work till I draw my last breath to honor your mom and dads wishes to fight for your brothers and sisters here on earth and not let those who have joined you to be forgotten, to have not given their lives for nothing.

You were given to us Barbaro, for a reason, this I believe. You put a face on the horrors that your brothers and sisters must live everyday. Now, with you in heaven, helping us help them, we will. This I promise you. We will not let you down,we will not fail, because we fight in your name. A name of honor, a name that has become to be known as that of the ultimate winner.

Thank you for coming into my life and changing it so profoundly.
I love you. I miss you. I honor you. I always will.
11 weeks ago today. 11 weeks ago now.

I am now going to light your candle, so when you look down, you will see the most powerful light coming from earth. The light will be for you, from us, all of us who love & miss you.

Forever In My Heart You Will Live... Barbaro!

Verna: between the frustrating calls to half my call list in DC don't you just want to scream sometimes: HORSES ARE DYING! YOU MUST DO SOMETHING! YOUR SENATOR/CONGRESSWHATEVER HAS THE FREAKING POWER TO MAKE THIS ALL STOP! please help the horses!!! and your note: i just want to cry.
I want to cry: HOW CAN HE BE GONE???? dAMNED LAMINITIS.

(Damn. Somedays I have to stuff my fist in my mouth after the logical, clam and compelling calls I must make.....)

OK, making too many calls. I am going to lay down with my greyhounds and read.....I just dug out my Sorels (BIGSNOW BOOTS from CANADA) to clomp out to the van and turn it in the driveway so the front wheel drive will extricate it no matter how much snow we get. It is heavy heavy snow, pulled the top of a neighboring pine off.....refused to allow the windshield wipers to function:

picture this: me in my red plaid nightgowN, barn coat, Sorels, trashing the snow off the windshield with a water bottle (yes, yes, I know.....) to get enough visability to pull out, reverse and back the trusty old van into the drive, close to the street.OY.

"Damn," my 68 year old neighbor is thinking, "she looks GOOD." HA HA.

Hang in there. we will get it done...

(But I really DO just want to go to DC in person and throttle people's throats till their heads bob back and forth. I never said I was a peaceful person.....ahem.)

    ### REGARDING EAGLE: I made my call to Judge Coleman's office today and was told by the very pleasant woman that answered, that no appeal was filed following the ruling. He is unable to reverse the ruling without an appeal, so as she put it "their hands are tied". Is there ANYTHING else the FOBs can do!?! ( I liked Martita's idea!) Bless this poor horse. . .

Posted by: Dawn in Omaha at April 16, 2007 3:59 PM

If we get a response of "Horses are livestock"... then we must come back on 2 fronts. First, if horses are "Just Livestock", then the same rules must apply to them as to other livestock raised for human consumption. Careful tracking of ownership, health, drugs administered, slaughter conditions. None of this happens for horses. Second, get clips of outstanding horse performances, emotional interactions between people and horses, and statistics of horse theft associated with the horse slaughter industry.

Oh, if we could only get the financial backing for a video campaign! Oprah... where are you when we need you!

Another thought. Is anyone fluent in French or German? Letters to the editor in influential European publications showing how unsafe the supply of horse meat from the U.S., as channeled through Canada and Mexico is. The lack of controls, standards, and the unscrupulous practices of the industry might cause concern on the "demand side" of this issue.

Verna, Jean, Joan, Sabra - thanks for your concern re my sick animals. Nala has her last chemo today and yes Over Enough is holding his own. I am hoping for some improvement this week as he has been in the stall almost 7 weeks now.

Nancy in CT - even though Over is a grandson of Alydar and raced against some good horses at Hialeah like Mecke - he was in danger of going to slaughter - the owner gave him to me for free after he was retired due to EPM (a neurological disease) and I found out through a friend from the track the he was in danger.

I posted last week about Curlin, when he entered the walking ring at Gulfstream on 2/3 as an unknown maiden, everyone there was in awe of his physical condition and he ran like he looks. I kept my program from that day just in case.

Everyone have a good day and successful day calling, this week is important for the horses.

    Good morning Family,

Good news to share with everyone this morning from Senator Harry Reid (D-Nev):

Thank you for contacting me about the Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act. I appreciate hearing from you.

You will be pleased to know that both the Senate and House of Representatives have passed the Animal Fighting Prohibition Enforcement Act (H.R. 137). This legislation will strengthen current prohibitions against animal fighting and increase the penalties for sponsoring or exhibiting an animal in a fighting venture. The new penalties for violations are a fine and up to three years imprisonment.

I have been a strong supporter of animal welfare throughout my career in the Senate, and I am pleased that the Senate has taken action to stop animal fighting exhibitions. In addition to being inhumane, the close contact between animals during fighting events raises concerns regarding the potential introduction and transmission of contagious diseases.

    Great news!

Yes, I give that and many more reasons in my blah blah blah rebuttal, but you would have to talk to some of them to see how firmly they are against this bill, freedom of the owners right, etc.

We keep plugging away though, I still call them every so often. I think the polls alone should tell them how their constituants feel, they are supposed to represent us, not special interests.>>>>Farm Bureau....Agriculture interests...

    But thanks for the viewpoint.

    Hello Everyone:

PLEASE take the time today and tomorrow to contact the Illinois House members to pass HB1711. This will prevent Cavel from slaughtering horses for consumption. Cavel is temporarily not operating for horse slaughter-if this bill is not passed horses again will be sent for slaughter in Illinois. Right now all 3 plants are down-we need to keep pressuring our reps to make slaughter illegal in the USA!

The Illinois House reps will be voting on HB1711 on Wednesday-there is a list of House Members on the chat and discussion thread! If you cannot call please send letters!

    Yo Fans of Barbaro.....

Changes for the Derby...... Barbaro put this on my counter last night..... :-)

Yuppers..................... :-) We all know they are wonderful horses... They don't have anything to prove really do they? I don't think so... THE DERBY RULES HAVE CHANGED........

The horses are at the gate....... Their off..... They are walking and eating apples and munchies. They are going around the turn just yakking at each other and enjoying their treats. They all have a Barbaro sign on them that is larger than life. The are walking down the back stretch. Aaaaaaaahhh Street Sense dropped his apple and has to go back and get it. Geeeeeeeeeeeeesh Scat Daddy just tried to snag the peppermint candy from Great Hunters mouth. Tiago is still tired from the Santa Anita Derby and decided to just take his time so he is in the back with Hard Spun talking about Barbaro. They are both at the back of the field because they are picking up all of the treats that are being dropped from all of the other horses. Oh geeeeeeeeeeeesh Dominican has just spit out his piece of peppermint candy... He would rather have a pear. Curlin is in front cause he doesn't know what is going on. He is actually trotting and all of the horses are telling him "hay slow down, this is our parade for Barbaro, you don't need to trot. You can walk as slowly as you want to. Of course while this is going on, the apples are getting scarce. Aaaaaaaaaah Street Sense is putting them in the jockey saddle. He is hogging all of the apples. Bad boy!!!!!

Edgar has to jump off of Scat Daddy to get the candy back for him. He takes it away from Great Hunter and gives it back to Scat Daddy. He decides that his legs are stiff so he just leads Scat Daddy from this point by the reigns, doesn't get back on his back.

This is quite the race. Any Given Saturday is just saying to the other horse that he loves this day cause of all the treats and attention. Curlin cannot figure out why he isn't running but he doesn't care cause his mouth is full of carrots. They are coming around the final turn......Circular Quay is tying to find more carrots and has to stop and wait for Street Sense to ask him who has the carrots.

They are still walking along and munching and looking at the crowd... They know they are being watched by thousands OF HUMANS.... They are showing off their blue and green colors in honor of Barbaro....... All the Barbaro signs are crystal clear.......Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh geeeeeeeeeeeeesh Street Sense lost his apple again... Another turn around to go and get it......

They all WAIT at the wire for Street Sense.... They cross it together.....:-)

All 20 horses WIN the Kentucky Derby in honor of Barbaro.........Time was 29minutes and 29 seconds.......

Now they need to train for the Preakness........ :-)

Morning (psychic) skritches to the BBH and all of his frens in Equine Heaven...

NOON REPOST, SHELLEY A, DEBRA, WI...and may I add my "join a state call-in group" entreaty to the mix?

Just talked to a nice lady at Tears. The judge ruling told tears to pay Mr., Cook one thousand dollars. They did! Their lawyer said the judge ruled for them and there is no need to appeal.
**************************************************Well the judge said he was very clear and with no appeal the horse will go to Cook. She is really upset. The Judge lied or as she said
Not clear in the ruling, and Don’t care. They offered 2000 more for Eagle and Cook said no.
She also said this is not the first time a judge sent a horse back to abusive owners. That’s Alabama for you! She asks us to please keep calling.

###Debbie L.A. that is just so hard to believe. What kind of a judge would do that. What if they didn't hand the horse over??? What would the legal ramifications be? There must be some way!!!!! Please God !!!!

HELLO BARBARO NATION & FAMBLEE ...

I feel as if I've missed so much not being 'here' for the past couple of days ... for fear that I will unintentionally omit something important or someone important, let me just wish blessings, prayers and good thoughts for all the beasts and the children of God who are in need. And for all those who have crossed over Rainbow Bridge, your place is now with The Angels of Peace and Eternal Happiness.

ALEX ... Just read that you are going to England to celebrate your Grandmother's 90 Birthday ... Bon Voyage and a very safe trip. My own mother will be celebrating her 95th Birthday on April 26, but that is the day that I will be getting on a plane for the first time in many many years and traveling to Delaware for our DelPark Celebration of Barbaro's life. We will celebrate my mother's 95th this coming weekend instead so that I will be at that momentous occasion with family and friends. Again, Alex, a very safe and enjoyable trip ... your respite is well-deserved after all this time.

WENDY ... your pictures of Fair Hill are wonderful ... indeed, pictures speak volumes and one is worth a thousand words. Thank you!!
    ##############
TO EVERYONE WHO HAS POSTED wonderful poems, stories, tuck-ins, etc., again I don't want to leave anyone out so I won't name names .... you continue to bring light and radiance to this community ...
    #############
TO MY SWEET, SWEET BARBARO ... Another Monday, another memory, another tear ... and then the knowing smile that you are safe, you are happy, you are running with the wind, and as "Mom Jackson" would say: "At least he's out of his damn stall and running around with Secretariat!" ... That, dearest Bobby, is the vision that carries me through each day since January 29th ... I know that you ARE running around with Secretariat and you two are the "best buds" up ther in EH ... I just KNOW it!! Love you so much, dearest Bobby, and miss you just as much!!
    ############

And finally, I must repost something that Jonna posted last night at 9:32 about Rosie and the birth of Bobby's L'il Angel ... It was one of the most touching and beautiful poems I have read on this site and it moved me deeply. So, Jonna, I hope you will not mind that I repost it here now for those who may not have had a chance to read your glorious thoughts and poetic talents:
    She--
    meant to be born--
snatched from the jaws of death,
she is elemental, she is a beam of light. She is ours, one of our first triumphs....

Twirling, whirling, leaping, kicking out, staring down the Lamaze Group and then flying away from them as if she had inherited their wings.

Like any infant she has an on and an off button. Rosie follows her as best she can, but stands in the middle of the hurricane, the eye of the Angel storm, and just watches her fly around the enclosure. She stands patiently as the filly sleeps the sleep of horses who dream of greyhounds, canaries, hamsters,cats...she was implanted with these loves all these long 11 + months we watched....

This morning, shot through and through with gold, bronze, brass, copper, they stood in the ancient link of mare and foal as the sun rose in Nevada.
The sun burnishing them, the sun warming me as I can almost feel it piercing the fog that has been my heart these many weeks.

Little dark tail switching back and forth as she suckles. Rosie eyeing anything she doesn't want near her precious baby. (Chickens make death-defying forays into the pen. Th Au Pair has not yet been chosen. They are all hopeful.)

This little miracle. How long we waited. God knew best. Angel arrived in the same whirlwind paths we see her tracing now. In utero as in life, my Mother always said....

Flying, flying, little girl...you are safe forever. You will never know the feedlot, or any of the rest of it. By the time you are older, your future will be assured....

Just as our hope will be assured. All will be done, in Barbaro's name....as part of the legacy the Jackson's wrote for him. She will live her life kissed in love, it will be said of her. "She was our first rescue. See what Barbaro did?"

He simply reached down from Heaven and plucked Rosie from the many and brought her into Stephanie's patient, wise and loving arms...
We are the Aunts and Uncles....we will guarantee her prosperity. We will thank God for her wild ways, long-legged little miracle of ours: Angel.

You can view the pictures mentioned here on the Tim Woolley Forum - under "Anti Slaughter Issues" titled "HELP CONTACT-ALBERTA FEEDLOT @ CAPACITY".

My contact at the Canadian Horse Defense Coalition (CHDC at www.defendhorsescanada.org) sent me some pictures. They are from a feedlot in Alberta on Saturday April 14th, the largest slaughterhouse in North America - Bouvry Exports in Fort MacLeod. Claude Bouvry of Bouvry Exports Calgary, Ltd. owns slaughter plants in Alberta and Quebec and feedlots in Shelby, MT and Fort Macleod.

    Report from an investigator.........
...drove through the horse slaughter plant in Fort McLeod on April 14th (closed on Saturdays) on our way to the Indian reserve in Standoff. We jumped the fence to get pictures of the horses. All the horses you see in the pictures will be slaughtered next week. I estimated there were over a 1000 horses in the holding pens.

This is likely evidence that horses are being sent up from Shelby, MT. A disturbing and sad situation.

Ted Menzies is the Member of Parliament for Fort MacLeod. We need to put pressure on him now. At the CHDC, we are working to educate Canadians about the plight of thousands of horses here, but American support is needed too. Below is Ted Menzies' contact information. Thank you for helping.

    Alabama report:

Born and reared in Alabama, I can testify that it is not all "good ole' boys." There are some powerful women within the borders.

Enlightened men, such as James Redfield, "The Celestine Prophecy" author also hail from the beautiful state.

I just spoke with the judge's secretary, a seemingly lovely soul, who assures me that Eagle's owner, Mr. Cook, is actually a good person who seems genuinely concerned about Eagle.

    Could there be mis-information afloat?

Maybe Mr. Cook had a shift in conciousness. Our collective energy may have reached into his heart!

    Just some thoughts.....

Is the local media going to follow-up on Eagle after the horse is returned officially to Mr. Cook?

Perhaps FOBs can find a media contact from a local newspaper in AL. who is covering the story. Or, perhaps TEARS is aware of media people who have written about TEARS and their rescue activities in the past who can follow-up on the happenings with Eagle.

    Much thanks...

FOR EVERYONE!! READ THIS REALLY COOL ARTICLE I JUST CAME ACROSS:

Fans of Barbaro, Secretariat can show love with pricey cocktail

    DYLAN T. LOVAN
    Associated Press

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - How do you top a $1,000 cocktail made with exotic ingredients from around the world and served on one day in one place, the Kentucky Derby?

Easy. Toss in a slew of past Derby winners, including sentimental favorite Barbaro, a Christie's auction and cups studded with precious jewels.

Hoping to best its ritzy mint julep from last year, Woodford Reserve bourbon is offering 132 of the cocktails in gold cups each engraved with the name of a Derby-winning horse.

A select batch of Woodford Reserve is the only holdover from last year, when the drink's ingredients were brought in from the Arctic, Africa and the South Pacific. This year, the mint comes from Ireland, with ice from the Bavarian Alps and organic sugar shipped in from western Australia.

"We did try to make the ultimate mint julep, and that's something that we're striving for again this year," said Wayne Rose, Woodford Reserve's brand director. "It'll be a little bit different taste, but that's because the ingredients are a little bit different."

Eleven of the cups will feature Triple Crown winners, and carry three rubies - one each for the Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes. Two more diamond-studded cups will be offered for Barbaro, last year's winner, and the first Derby champ, Aristides.

James Sarno said he won't hesitate to pay top dollar for another sweet sip at this year's Derby. Sarno, who works at a Louisville insurance company, and three of his friends bought the special juleps last year, when only 50 were offered.

"We thought that would be like having a piece of the Derby," Sarno said.

The 13 jeweled cups will be auctioned online by Christie's, with the bidding to begin at noon on Tuesday. Interested buyers of legal drinking age can log on to a Web site, http://www.woodfordreservemintjulep.com, to buy or bid on the cups.

Rose said there's no limit to the price the jeweled cups can fetch in the online auction. Churchill Downs, home of the Derby, will funnel the proceeds from the sale of the cups to the New Jersey-based Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, which helps retired horses and disabled jockeys.

"What's fun about this is it's a very emotional kind of thing," said Cathy Elkies, director of special collections at Christie's in New York. "People tend to bid on their favorite horse, and the reasons that they bid are very personal. It's always fun to see what price they're willing to pay for that."

###Here's another 'take' on the same article, except that it says that BARBARO WILL DRAW THE MOST MONEY ... AND THERE ARE PICTURES OF THESE CUPS IN THIS ARTICLE:

    The ultimate Derby souvenir
Woodford Reserve to offer 132 juleps for $1,000, or more

    By Alex Davis
    alexdavis@courier-journal.com
    The Courier-Journal

A typical mint julep, served in a souvenir glass, at this year's Kentucky Derby will set you back $9.

But if you really want to turn heads at the track, you can fork over $1,000 or more for one of 132 special juleps served in gold-plated cups with silver straws.

Woodford Reserve bourbon started the promotion at last year's Derby and is more than doubling its bet this year.

The pricey cocktails again will feature exotic ingredients -- mint from Ireland, organic sugar from Australia and ice from the Bavarian Alps. But after race fans snatched up the 50 sold last year, the brand's marketing team is aiming to sell one drink for every Derby winner, from Aristides in 1875 to Barbaro in 2006.

All proceeds from the promotion will go to Thoroughbred Charities of America, which assists retired horses and disabled jockeys.

An online auction for the cups will begin at noon tomorrow at www.woodfordreservemintjulep.com.

Auction house Christie's is supervising the sale. The winning bidders will collect their drinks on Derby Day at Churchill Downs.

Ron Bailey, who bought one of the $1,000 juleps last year, said there is "a very good chance" he will try to snag a cup in tomorrow's auction. The semi-retired Iroquois Park resident already owns collectible Derby glasses dating to 1945, along with obscure memorabilia, such as a piece of wood from the Twin Spires. Bailey, 64, predicted that the cup depicting Barbaro will draw the highest bids.

"That one is going to go for some money," he said. "You better have your checkbook out."

Cathy Elkies, director of special sales at Christie's, said the speed of the auction and the prices for the cups will be driven by emotion and what she called "the nostalgia factor."

Last year's promotion drew national media attention. Woodford Reserve plans to keep 10 of the cups this year to sell at the track. And 109 will be sold online for $1,000 on a first-come, first-served basis. The cups depicting the 11 winners of the Triple Crown -- each embedded with three rubies -- will go to the highest bidder between tomorrow and May 1. Aristides and Barbaro, the first and most recent winners, have cups embedded with a single diamond. They also will go to the highest bidder. And for good measure, a 133rd cup will be sent to the owner of this year's winning horse, free of charge.

Woodford Reserve is made in Versailles, Ky. The buyers of the 13 jeweled cups will have their drinks mixed and personally delivered to their seats at the track by Chris Morris, master distiller of the brand owned by Louisville-based Brown-Forman. The other buyers will have to go to one of three bars set up at different parts of the track to pick up their orders.

"When 'My Old Kentucky Home' plays across the track, there's this tremendous excitement and everybody wants to have a mint julep in their hand," Morris said. "But to have the ultimate mint julep is an experience and a souvenir that is hard to match."

Here is another feeble attempt at some Horsey Humor. I figure we ALL need to keep our sense of humor during all this stress with the HS issue.

How many horses does it take to change a lightbulb...?

Thoroughbred: Who, ME?? Do WHAT? I'm scared of
    lightbulbs...I'm outta here!

Arabian: I changed it an hour ago. Come on you guys,
    catch up!

Quarter Horse: Put all the bulbs in a pen and tell me
    which one you want.

Standardbred: Oh for Pete's sake, give me the darn
bulb and let's be done with it!

Shetland: Give it to me. I'll kill it and then we
won't have to worry about it anymore.

Friesian: I would do it, but I can't see where I'm
    going with all this mane.

Belgian: Put the Shetland on my back. Maybe he can
    reach it then.

Warmblood: Doesn't anyone realize that I was sold for
$75K as a yearling, but only because my hocks are bad,
otherwise I would be worth $100K? I am NOT changing
lightbulbs. Make the Thoroughbred come back here and
    do it.

Morgan: Me! Me! Me! Pleeeaase let me! I wanna do it!
I'm gonna do it! I know how, really I do! Just watch!
I'll rewire the barn afterwards, too.

Appaloosa: Y'all are a bunch of losers. We don't need
to change the lightbulb, I ain't scared of the dark.
And someone make that darn Morgan stop jumping up and
    down before I double-barrel him.

Haflinger: That thing I ate was a lightbulb?

Mustang: Lightbulb? Let's go on a trail ride instead.
And camp. Out in the open, like REAL horses.

Lippizan: Hah, amateurs. I will change the lightbulb.
Not only that, but I will do it while standing on my
hind legs and balancing it on my nose, after which I
will perform seven flying lead changes in a row and a
capriole. Can you do that? Huh? Huh? Didn't think so.

Miniature: I bet you think I can't do it because I'm
small. You know what that is? It's sizeism!

Akhal Teke: I will only change it if it's my owner's
lightbulb and no one else has ever touched it.

Andalusian: I will delegate the changing of the
lightbulb to my personal groom, after he finishes
shampooing my mane and cleaning my saddle...but only
on the condition that it is changed for a soft blue or
green bulb, which reflects better off my coat while I
    exhibit my astonishing gaits.

Cleveland Bay: I'm busy. Make the whipper-in and the
    hounds do it.

Saddlebred: My ears are up already, please, please get
the light bulb away from me! I'm ready to show,
    really, I promise I'll win!

Paint: Put all the lightbulbs in a pen, tell me which
one you want, and my owner will bet you twenty bucks I
can get it before the quarter horse.

POA: I'm not changing it. I'm the one who kicked the
old one and broke it in the first place, remember? Now
excuse me, I have a feed room to break into.

Grade Horse: Guys? Um, guys? I hope you don't mind,
but I went ahead and changed it while you were all
    arguing.

Now that I have entertained you, the least you could do is JOIN OUR ARIZONA CALLING GROUP ! ! !

Each and every one of his friends here on Earth are number one. They all are. I think what he is trying to tell me from that note that I got is "please don't put any horse in front of another. Love them all.. Love them as if they were your own... Love them even if they come in 20th in the Derby.... It really isn't about the money from where I am. It is about the LOVE.... Without that, you will never see me again and I want to see all of my Fans........"

That is my impression of the note that I got from our Angel Barbaro.....

That is a great idea. It was lurking in the shadows of my mind. We need a follow up story here. Someone must check up on the "nice" Mr. Cook and see if he is really loving EAGLE.

My bet is that ome of those powerful and enlightened Alabama souls are already brewing up a plan to do just that! Mr. Cook will love having the world read about what a great horse-person he truly is... if that is the case.

For sure, I think the weather late last year was made for Barbaro. That's why it's so bad now. The timing of the change is just too coincidental. Remember, I'm the one who saw the fat robins in my yard at 11:30 a.m. on 1/29! Haven't seen any like that since then. They're all skinny now.

When they broadcast the Derby and Preakness, his memory will loom so large over all of it. It's going to be tough.

The Petition to save Eagle posted in Mr. Cook's local paper with a list of FOB signature sponsors to date might just be the thing to keep Mr. Cook 'honest'.

However, FOBs need some 'juice' through the local media down there. Perhaps an Alabama FOB with the proper drawl could contact that media person or newspaper. Now all we FOBs need is a volunteer.

    ALEX,
Wishing you a safe and memorable trip to England.

    AFTERNOON REPOST

Thanks and have a great day and a wonderful week.

i here relate my last phone call to the judge's secretary today (monday 4/16, 3pmEst), in case it may help anyone who is planning to call.
    ----------------------------------------
i just spoke with the judge's secretary again and she said, "no change, nothing can be reversed".
so i engaged her a bit trying to find out more, what's the case from their p.o.v.:
I reminded her of the facts:

A judge had already awarded Eagle to Tears when he was found roaming the streets, skin and bones; they nursed him back to health; previous-previous "owner" Eddie Cook found out about Eagle and showed up in court and Tears agreed to pay him $1000 for the horse which he accepted; as he owed Tears $800 restitution, Tears wrote him a $200 check to offset the balance; but then after that, he sued Tears in Civil court to get the horse back, even though Tears paid for Eagle.

but the judge's secretary answered that:
-the civil court case is the only time she's aware of that people went to court for Eagle, that a judge never awarded Eagle to Tears
-that Tears never paid the "owner" any money for the horse (she was very "no way, that didn't happen!" about the $1000-$800 = $200 paid for Eagle to "previous owner" E.Cook from Tears)
-and that TEAR's only chance to reverse the ruling was to appeal and they didn't.

she then said, "anything else i can help you with, Ma'm?"
i said, "..again, i just leave my msg of support to judge Coleman to let Eagle remain in the care of Tears".

    Debbie L.A.***

If we were to direct a News 13 reporter's attention to the signature sponsors on our Petition to keep Eagle at TEARS, THAT WOULD MAKE FOR THE BEGINNINGS OF THE FOLLOW-UP STORY ON Eagle, that FOBs want to keep Eagle at TEARS. This way NEWS 13 can make this part of its Report as Eagle heads home to Mr. Cook. FOBs, in this manner, can use the media further to can keep Mr. Cook on his guard and NOT hurt Eagle.

For a number of years I have worked with rescue animals and I have found that under our law animals do not have rights. They are considered property. If your dog gets loose from the airport while awaiting to be loaded on the plane and killed about all you will be rewarded is the cost of the animal. Of course, I am hoping that the dogs and cats that were killed by the tainted food owners sue for thousands. Is there anyway we could get a writeup for Eagle in the papers or on fox news or another natl. station? I was raised on a ranch and you can be sure our horses, who worked cattle, were not considered livestock. When they got too old to work they retired with dignity and lived out their lives with us in comfort. would there be enough money to buy Eagle from the man and send him to a rescue sanctuary? I am very worried, as all of yold are, and also very concerned about the horses being transported to Mexico. We will just have to keep working carrying out Barbaros legacy.

I have agreed to be the Texas Leader to stop the Slaughter of our Horses. I am in the process of setting up a calling group for our state and hope those of you in TX will join me. Just email me at burkspam@yahoo.com .
As a member, you will need just a few moments a week to get the job done. Just take 10 minutes a day and you will feel so good that you have helped stop the horror these "friends" of ours go through, this will be lots of fun as we watch the progress and reap the rewards just knowing we have helped. As I stated once before to Debra Lopez picture how Barbaro pulled away from the other horses when he ran, picture us pulling the horses away from this HORRIBLE practice. I can't tell you how excited I am about this. I know we will make a difference, So, please email me at burkspam@yahoo.com and join us today.
I look forward to hearing from you...
AS OF TODAY WE HAVE 9 and I appreciate every one of you. Come on TEXAS!!!

Please remember all the rescues, the Fallen Angels, the ones suffering, animals and humans. Neglect, abuse, brutal slaughtering, and horses going across the border has to be stopped. Congress is back...may we burn up the lines to let them know we are here, we speak for one, united, and we want ACTION.

This is exactly why we are encouraging everyone to join the state groups. We got GREAT results in the California pilot program. I think we will see a big jump in co-sponsors now that a number of states are starting the program simultaneously. This is exactly the push we need at this time, to get these bills out of committee.

So everyone, please join your state group, or think about being your state organizer if your state does not yet have a group!

    hi all,

smooth sailing on all my (12 NY reps/senators + 1 to Obama, pffeeww!) calls today.

approached it like a marathon calling event, timed it and went fast. kept my sample-text in front on me for reference, but realized i had already memorize it!..it helped though, when you're just going fast: all my points (urgency to cosponsor NOW to help move bills for a Floor Vote, 3 HS plants closed, but horses being transported to Mexico, etc. ) were right in front of me and the aides never interrupted me once, listened silently, then thanked me, 1/2 of them took my address also, and voila'.

in a couple of offices i left msgs, and i could definetedly tell that the lines were hot and busy today! (long rings, wait-on-d-line messages, etc)

tomorrow the national calls should feel like a breeze: they will be more in numbers, but there's even less to say per call when calling the committees.

13 NY calls took me about 20 minutes, not bad!

    ---------
    Eagle news:

i also spoke to Jennifer at Tears a while ago, she had suggestions for us to focus our strategy at this time:

i'm going to email her and gather my notes, then will post for all of us who are calling for EAGLE!

as of 4:20pmEst the exchange had not happened yet, and Eagle was at Tears.

Keep calling our reps and senators, GO NY! c

    Hello Barbaro,

We have been having gorgeous weather here in Minnesota although I know on the East coast, they are having a rough time of it. I hope everyone is safe, warm and comfortable...

Today an evil act was carried out in Virginia. It begs the question "Why?". You've heard me ask that question a number of times. For the life of me, I can’t think of a reason... Someday, some way, I hope I will hear the answers to so many questions that life here on Earth has no words for...

Are you ready for your blanket? Let’s grab a few extra for the Fans that are bearing the misery of this wet weather.

We'll pull them up high and tuck them under gently while fluffing the folds just right for nuzzling.

Sweet dreams to everyone who needs them. May sleep soothe your mind and carry your concerns away. Honey, may you find your loved ones dreaming of you and all of the tender times that you shared.

Now close your eyes and start on your dreams. Your Fans will soon join you.

Good night Honey. I love you. XXOOxxoxo

    #####

    Hello Hope,

I picture you standing in your stall, nice and dry, comfortable with straw fluffed high, just waiting for you to call it a night.

I hope your filly is keeping you comfortable...

Are you ready for your blanket? There are plenty to spare so your Fans can cuddle up too...

Let's pull them up high and gently tuck the ends under to keep the draft away.

Dream sweet dreams of becoming a Mother and the forever joys that role blesses upon you. I love you Hope. Good night. xxooxxo xoxxo

    ####

    Hello Hawty Creek,

Alex says you're looking good...Atta' girl! He also tells us that you are entered for Saturday... So, I guess we know what your dreams will be for the next few nights!

Let's grab your blanket and offer a few extra for your Fans, in case they are fighting bad weather.

Dream sweet dreams of that race on Saturday. Sooo many people will be cheering for you! And, the most important part of your dream...that you cross the finish line and come home to Fair Hill, safely.

Good night Hawty. I love you. xxooxo

    EAGLE UPDATE FROM TEARS:

as of 4:20pmEst, Eagle was still at Tears, no sign of the "owner" yet..please pray.

thanks for being patient about news on strategy from Tears about Eagle.

forgive my 'rambling', i just want to get this out to you asap [i need an assistant, lol!!]:

Jennifer at Tears told me that if we focus on the Media to put out another article or do a story on tv for Eagle, that would be a good thing at this moment, since the judge is not going to change the ruling. Our best bet is to keep calling attention to the case to make sure we keep Eagle in the news
ie. plead that someone goes to this "owner" and attempts to interview him (he has declined so far, why? does he have something to hide? the only people who say "he means to do no harm to the horse" are his lawyer and the judge's secretary--but he should come FWD himself).
    Tears said it would be difficult for them, in their current position, to go inspect or take a look at the "owner's" property (where he keeps other horses as well, and they didn't know in what conditions they are); so if the media were to do it, that would be good follow-up;

as far as what media to contact, Jennifer suggested 2 sources:

well, first she suggested we do not focues on Trevor Pettiford of PBS, bcz he's already on their side: if anything we can thank him quickly, but she said Trevor does this work not only bcz it's a job to him, but he does it from his heart and he's the one who regularly/always has been following and supporting Tears endeavours.

    so we could focus on:

--their local CBS (she said to go to www.wiat.com to contact a reported there, she didn't have a specific name).

    and

--that it would be great if we could push The Birmingham News, the local paper that already put out the first article on Eagle last friday (Tears didn't like that article, although it was good that at least something came out in the paper about Eagle) to do another follow-up article on E, and this time we could send them Eagle's correct whole true story and PHOTOS of him (before and after), so that the article would say something more than the first, in favor of Eagle; put the truth out in the open more than it did in the first article.

another thing, the PETITION: Jennifer said they have a petition running to, online--or is it the same one we are signing on to? she thinks theirs is in fact the one on care2care.com, so it may be the same (must check on that). if not, we could merge them as one.

and she thinks it's a great idea to use the petition as Ken was suggesting--to send the link to the petition (of the record of # of signatures) to the 2 reporters that we're targeting to do a story (CBS and The B. News), as a record of how much national support Eagle has been gathering:
"please do a follow up story, we want to know about Eagle",
"we want to hear from this "owner",
"we want Eagle to stay at Tears",
    etc.

    that's the scoop.
now we just have to get the 2 email addies and/or phone #s for CBS and The B. News, so we can shower them with kind tough love and support for Eagle The Horse and move them to action.

    stay tuned
(and if anyone wants to help with getting to the exact
    tel#s/emails/faxes#, much appreciated!

Posted by: Laurie H. in MN at April 17, 2007 12:08 AM

###Martita, you have NO idea how very deep and disgusting the good ol boy system is, esp here in the South. Animal abuse gets a slap in the hand, there are 24 horses here in Lexington that might end up in a slaughterhouse. It's been a 2 year lawsuit and animal abuse case. The judge has now ordered the horses sold at auction..we know what that means.

It breaks my heart and tortures my soul.

    DEAR BARBARO, SWEET SPIRIT HORSE...

Another melancholy Monday filled with thoughts of you and your last Monday here on earth,

And yet I have often heard it said that when a loved one dies, we mourn for OURSELVES...because we love you and miss you so much and long for your physical presence here with US. We have no need to mourn your new life in the land of light and peace just across the Rainbow Bridge...

Your new life is filled with equine angel friends, with green pastures and flowers, with beloved animals of all species living in harmony, with sunlight and fluffy clouds and the light of God's eternal love.

Your new life is NOT spent in a place where a madman assassinates college students laboring in the pursuit of knowledge...

Your new life is NOT spent in a place where too often people are judged by their title, their job status, their physical attributes, the brand of automobile they drive, the level of their education, or the worth of their investment portfolio...

Your new life is NOT spent in a place where horses are starved and abused and tossed onto feedlots where their "worth" is calculated in "cents per pound"...

Your new life is NOT spent in a place where brave young American men and women sacrifice their lives every day in a war of dubious merit and purpose...

Your new life is NOT spent in a place where children in the lowest socio-economic levels are hungry and cold and ill-clothed and poorly educated, often with little chance to escape their parents' legacy...

You new life is NOT spent in a place where we strive every day to abolish horse slaughter in your honor, yet know that our enemies have deep pockets which allow them to spread their propaganda...

And therefore, in the midst of my tears for the earthly loss of your strength and courage and beauty, I must begin to CELEBRATE your new life eternal!

I love you and miss you, dear Big Boss Horse...I WILL see you again one fine day!

BARBARO - CHAMPION OF MY HEART!

    Love,
    Nancy

    Hola all !

I haven't posted in a long while and
Ohhh I miss skimming through the posts - I just haven't had much time , but I do read the updates ! Sounds like you guys "got it together" and have really organized everyone on the anti slaughter rally - Barbaro Style!

The Derby is just around the turn and I am remebering Barbaro in his glory ! What a race to remember !
I will be there this year to honor his victory and to represent the FOBs !!

Alex, have a safe trip and tell Grandma we all said "Happy 90th Birthday"

Barbaro- I miss you so - your spirit is alive and inspires us to do great things in your honor!
Your courage allows the dreamer to dream ,and the fighter to fight. Your determination pushes that dream to reality !

Well, good night all blesings to each of you!

Jenny has reported she spoke with TEARS and no one picked Eagle up today. No one seems to know what is going on.

If you have not signed the petition for Eagle, do so NOW.

Pray for Eagle. I hardly dare breathe.

Joy, FOB forever, always loving Barbaro and praying for Eagle

Alex, safe and happy journey to you!

It is reassuring to know that you come from strong, long-living stock. We want you around for a very long time.

Happy 90th Birthday to your grandmother!!

Very sad day in VA ..... I am beyond sorry for everyone involved and the families of the young people who were killed or injured, but especially the ones killed!!!

Been too busy today to read everything here, will try tonight to get 'caught up'......GOOD NEWS:) I will be visiting INSIDE THE FENCE:) tomorrow to see that sweet horse mommy work with ??? I don't know which one....maybe Rosie some more..doesn't matter to me though, 'cause I just LOVE THEM ALL:)

I stopped for a quick minute this early afternoon armed with a pretty decent sized bag of baby carrots....MISTER L O V E S food!!! He was just HOGGING those carrots....he TOSSES his head around and the other two just meekly stand back...but Rosie got some, I made SURE!!! I pushed that big ol' horsey head of Misters away a few times....of course he's nickering horsey 'swear' words to me...but his sissy DID get a few...Poor Blackie.....I will catch up with him tomorrow though...he WANTS to get treats, it seems like he WANTS some lovings, but he's just tooooooo timid...I feel badly for him...I'm not giving up on him though, I think inside, way inside, there is a fun loving horsey spirit that would VERY MUCH ENJOY 'nuzzle time' with this Lady at the Fence:)

And then I remember it is ELEVEN weeks today:( but it's because I met that wonderful big Bay named Barbaro.....it's because of him that I am now enjoying my three amigos so much...and look at allll the other horses who've been helped and Rosie's little Filly:) Angel...and alllll the FOBs who have jumped on the band-wagon all across this Nation of ours to fax and call and try really HARD to stop slaughter...and look at how many of us are learning EVERY SINGLE DAY about horse 'language' and horse anatomy and EVERYTHING
'horse' we can soak up like happy little 'sponges' :) It's all because of my Handsome Sweetheart.. Bobby Jackson!!!!!...sigh:)

Everyone have a safe/dry/comfortable night and I'll catch up with you all tomorrow after my next visit I N S I D E the fence:) XXOOXX

    Alex,

The news about Nick M. unveiling his new painting of Barbaro at del Park is very exciting!

On a sad note, I am wondering if the VA Tech news is having an affect with the students at U of Delaware. What are you hearing?

    ******
Verna1...your husband is 100% correct on the photo op idea....I'm a marketing person and that story and idea is a WINNER from a media standpoint!!!!That story could be syndicated ....it's a real heartbreaker...but couldn't be closer to the TRUTH!!! Please proceed with the idea !!! Let's make horse slaughter really personal and extremely unpopular.....let's bring slaughter out into the daylight for all to see how evil it really is!!!!
Go for it Verna !!! It may get us the sponsors we need....
