    Fair Hill: Quiet Again, lets hope its just for the day!

    With Barbaro and Diabolical in Pimlico for the Preakness today, Fair Hill has returned to its quiet ambience. Lots of horses working, doing gate work etc. but no media and public in to watch. Lets hope that we draw in the media again next week, as that can only mean Barbaro did what we all here hope he will do, and win the Preakness.

    It has been fun accurately reporting the exploits of Barbaro during his two weeks between the Kentucky Derby and Preakness, and we hope to continue to do this throughout the Triple Crown. Win or lose today, he is an amazing thoroughbred, with the presence of a champion in the making.

    As a breeder of Morgan horses for years and now show dogs, the Triple Crown is one of my favorite sports to follow. When I saw Barbero in the Derby I was excited to see a beautiful specimen of the breed win. He had such fun in his eyes, I would have given anything to be his groom. My heart goes out to his owners to let the world know that racing is not all about the money - thank them all who tried to save this great athlete. I can only imagine the pain you are all in at this time - I have been there.

    There are times when I think, God selected certain people to be guardians of great animals and he has some reason for taking them away from us, another one somewhere, needs the Jacksons love and caring.

    May Barbero now be able to forever run in the fields without pain knowing he was loved worldwide.
